I'm one of those women who thinks a well equipped kitchen ALWAYS includes a trash compactor. I've had three homes in the last twenty years and every one has included this. Just moved to the 3rd house and yep, first thing installed. Never had a single problem with any trash compactor from Kitchenaid and that about says it all as to why I keep buying them. A quality appliance that lasts for years. I can't give a higher recommendation.

I made sure to include this Kitchenaid integrated trash compactor in my new kitchen. It works great for my family of 5 -- and all of our company! I no longer have to stop what I'm doing to make sure my trash can is emptied. I do suggest you include better installation instructions. Apparently this is not a common appliance in southwest Florida. My kitchen contractor and cabinet installer have struggled to get it installed so the integrated panel lines up correctly without showing 2" of mechanical stuff on the bottom...we're still struggling to get it installed correctly.
