Good Headset, Comfortable fit
on August 9, 2008

This whole bluetooth experience was an interesting one at that. I have tried 2 other bluetooth headsets prior to this one and each time I ran into problems with each headset, the buttom line each one stopped working. This Jawbone 2 was the most comfortable to wear and has pretty good reception most of the time. This headset needs to touch your jaw to work properly and you need to find the right size ear hook to ensure snug fit, which it has many included It not a perfect headset but its gets the job done and it so far has worked better then two other headsets I have used. The headset still works good after having it for over a month, hurrah!!! Its easy to charge and the battery life is okay for me it hasent quit on me yet. If you don't have too high of expectations and don't drop it, you should have a good experience with this headset. Remember the technology is still relatively new for these types of devices, give it time to iimprove.

Good styling and performance...not comfortable!!!!

I got this a few weeks ago at the ATT store, heard and read good things about it. After the first charge, I set it up and was ready to go...the first day was everything seemed to work fine. Day 2 and onward, I couldn't get the thing to sit on and in my ear...it kept coming loose! I tried all the ear gels and ear loops...none seem to fit right.
For the few times it did fit right, the performance was very good!

Great headset

This is the easiest headset to pair and the noise canceling works great! It is light and fits okay inside your ear. I have tried many headsets and, so far, there is nothing better out there for me.

THIS IS A GREAT PRODUCT! DID NOT GIVE IT 5 STARS BECAUSE HAD TROUBLE AT FIRST GETTING IT POSITIONED ON THE SIDE OF MY FACE. IF NOT POSITIONED RIGHT IT WILL NOT WORK AS IT WAS DESIGNED TO. GIVE YOU AND YOUR JAWBONE SOME TIME AND YOU WILL LOVE IT TOO.

Really like it

Did not like the ear hook. In fact it broke off and I haven't put another one on it. The earbud fits so good that I wear it without ear hooks. I wear it full time in the car, then put it in my pocket when not driving. Buttons are a bit tricky at first to use especially if answering calls from my pocket, as I use to hang up as I placed in my ear, but with time I have learned how to hold it and place it in my ear to answer calls.

Jawbone 2, MUCH improvements to Jawbone 1
on May 21, 2008

I've used the original Jawbone since it was released, and loved it, so when the new jawbone 2
was released, I was eager to try it out.
The only difficulties that I had were with the ear hooks, trying to get a "good fit", and the charger.
Those issues have been taken care of with the Jawbone 2.
The earhooks are made of a stronger material, are covered in a leather looking material. For those with eyeglasses, they even come with a non covered version. The earbuds have also been changed.
Now, instead of the "place on give 1/2 twist" with the
old jawbone, the new ones simply "pop" on and off.
The material of the new ear buds, has also been changed. It is a much SOFTER material, makiing for a better more snug fit on the ear.
Actually, if you prefer not to use an earhook, you can remove it, and the jawbone 2 will stay put.
Using aftermarket earbuds should be no problem
either. I use an expensive jetsound custom
earbud, which is molded to fit your ear and it fits perfectly.
Now, for the important parts.
INCOMING sound is greatly improved.
With the original jawbone, paired to my Tilt, I had to keep the volume at the max setting, to hear.
With the new Jawbone, I can keep it at 1/2
level and hear everything perfectly.
No one has complained about the outgoing sound, so I would assume it is equal or better
than the original jawbone. Wind noise is a lot
better, because the placement of the microphones
is different. Depending on which ear you place
the jawbone two, the microphones will be on top or bottom, away from wind blowing at them.
Pairing is a snap, the first time you turn it on,
it is automatically in pairing mode.
If you have a jawbone, the connect/disconnect
button is similar. You simply find the spot and press. The "volume" button is similar, it is
at the back of the headset.
As for charging, one complaint that was addressed
is the charger connection to the jawbone.
Although it is still not a industry standard miniUSB, it is MUCH easier.
Now, the connection is done magnetically, similar to some Apple computers. Just get the power connector close to the jawbone 2, and it will snap
onto the headset.
I give the new Jawbone 5 of 5 because I can't give it a 4 & 1/2. The only "downside" I have is the
charger connector should be a mini usb, which would make it easier if you travel, not having to
tote around another cord.

Not as good as the Original Jawbone
on June 1, 2008

I purchased the original Jawbone when I got my Blackberry 8800 about a 18 months ago. It was my first and only experience with a Bluetooth headset. I loved it!!
I Lost my Jawbone headset on my last International trip and had to replace it. The day I did my research to find a new one was the day Jawbone 2 came on the market. I purchased one from an AT&T store while traveling 2 weeks ago.
First impression: I like the original better.
The new one charges much faster but the battery has about half of the life of the original. Very little warning before it goes dead suddenly.
Jawbone 2 fit is much better than the original, but getting it in the right position to have the best reception is tricky. If the new jawbone doesn't touch your face perfectly your caller will have difficulty hearing you.
My fist callers made comments like:
"you sound muffled", "it sounds like you are in a tin can", "I can't hear you, you're breaking up". My own hearing also suffered in clarity over the original.
I made a test call to myself with the radio in the background of the car. The noise assassin killed the radio and the air noises of driving. As I've continued to try to make the new Jawbone work, it has gotten better--when I pay strict attention to detail of fit.
If I had never had the original Jawbone I would probably think the new version is fantastic. However, I am now looking for the original version at a good price to use when I need it or the new version goes dead.
