Touchpad is a joke

We received as housewarming gift 4.5 years ago and now touchpad has completely stopped working. We have even tried the whole unplug and plug back in still doesn't work. Where is the recall GE? It seems like we are just another customer with same issue.

Two problems in the first year

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Thankfully, this product was still under warranty. I've had two problems: A cracked door after just a few months, and now it doesn't work (i.e. doesn't heat anything but makes a very loud noise trying). It hasn't been a year, and I do not appreciate having to take off two days of work to fix the microwave.

Overall good value for money but buy extended warrantee

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This product performs well but has needed two repairs in the 2 years we have had it. The extended warrantee saved us from very costly expenditures. Otherwise a fine product.

I have the same problem as many other reviewers had; touch screen / control circuit board failure over and over again. I am going to can this thing and get another brand.

The developer of our property put these in all of the units. Everyone I have talked to that uses this product on a regular basis has had to replace it. First the fan went out, then it would not work if the stove below was on, now the key pad is completely out. This product SHOULD BE ON A RECALL!! VERY DISAPPOINTED WITH ALL OF THE GE PROFILE APPLIANCES

The second breakdown required replacing the touch pad an control board, $500 for parts!

This looks like a top of the line microwave, but judging by the common thread of everyone saying that their keypads don't work anymore, I'm surprised there hasn't been a recall. It's an awful lot of money to spend on something with know problems that requires repairs that are more expensive than buying a new unit.

Add me to the list whose touchpad isn't working. If it gets warm, such as when i use the oven, it is completely dead. I have 3 kids under 6. I am not happy. I imagine I will be less happy when I find out how much it's going to cost me.
