Horrible product!

I bought this whole series for the kitchen. I thought GE had great products. Within the first 2 years the keypad on my stove died TWICE. Now it's the microwave's turn. This will be the 3rd time that the keypad has died. I will. now longer sink any money into this! Maybe it's time to look at a different company.

Cheap components
on July 10, 2013

The microwave looks great and seems high-tech with the flipout vent cover and touchpad, but in reality the components are pretty cheap. The black plastic around the edges of the face and handle cracked after a couple years of use, and the handle actually broke off at the top and had to be glued back together. I decided to write a review after the touchpad stopped responding to touch, which makes the unit completely useless. I expected more from an expensive GE Profile microwave.

Recall this thing.

I came to the GE Website looking for a way to repair my microwave only to find that there are many complaints about the touchpad dying exactly like mine did. After reading through all the suggestions and doing some research into the cost of the repairs, I find it unacceptable. Clearly this is an issue with the appliance and it should have been recalled. I'm not sure why I should pay to have it repaired. Big fail, GE.

Nice unit when it works. Keypad (brain) issue should be recalled and replaced , with a product that equals price point and expectations.

Very poor product. Did the same as everyone else, touch pad stopped working completely after working on and off for a few years . You would think that the amount I spent on this, it would function properly for more then a couple months after the warranty expired!!!!!!.
