I purchase microwave with G.E. profile refrigerator and dishwasher. I am very disappointed since I owned G.E. appliances in the past. Microwave and refrigerator malfunctioned within the first month. Microwave stopped working for good, bad product.

Purchased with condo- touch pad terrible and died

Over-the-range microwave lasted almost 7 years but touch pad died because I decided one day to be super mom and multi-task with 3 stove tops at once and microwave touch pad stopped working (maybe due to excess heat? but that should NOT happen since it is made to be above high heat. I am thinking this touch pad only lasted this long because I only cook with one stove on and it is always the one adjacent to the panel) although rest of microwave is fine. Called GE, said it would be $275 to replace touch pad with 5 year warranty for touch pad only, might as well buy a new microwave. Other issues that occurred: top metal panel started to come off and warp (although only aesthetics). Microwave light bulbs impossible to find "recommended" ones at Home Depot or typical home improvement stores such as ACE hardware or Lowe's. Bought the closest light bulbs for $8 each and always die within 6 months.
PS: I hate GE profile appliances as a side note that came with my condo. Touch pad on dishwasher on same GE line died 1 year after normal use and can only turn on or off without use of personal settings (GE guy told me it is a 'common' occurrence with the GE dishwasher since it is made too close to ground and moisture builds up and fries up the circuit board) . Side-by-side refrigerator was horribly made, shelves on freezer did not fit and always fell off hinges so had to bootleg extensions for them (we ended up buying another refrigerator because I hated the GE profile fridge so much).

Keypad working, then not

Same issues as everyone else, working 5 minutes ago tried trouble shooting nothing helps. No time for costly repairs this was apart of my house package from builder and ge fridge was worse than microwave. ouch costly

Worst microwave ever

Power failure occurs intermittently. Will work fine for few times and come back an hour later and it shuts off.
No matter what combination I try (I.e. Exhaust fan on, off, power setting etc) there is a power failure and it resets.
Yes I have tried other outlets it is not house related as all other applicants work.
GE space saver 2.0 is unbelievably terrible. I have a 15 year old ge basic model I have to use now.

Touch screen panel

After 2 years, the touch screen panels haven't worked well. Sometime it will be accessible and most of the it will give me time readout only. We can't use this MW full time, but at present it's good for storage only. We're using other portable MW.

GLAD IT IS OUT OF PRODUCTION

We replaced a 22 year old microwave that was still working with the GE. After about 1 year, it quit. and has been basically a piece of junk since. It quit working again after we had it about 2 years. Constantly having problems apparently related to the clock setting, not sure. Well, 3 days before Christmas, and it has totally quit working again.
