GE Profile is garbage

I have the Profile (actually several Profile appliances) convection microwave and have had nothing but trouble with it. After reading some of the complaints about what appears to be common problems, it is apparent GE doesn't care or does not know a thing about their own product. I've worked on appliances in the past and fortunately am able to repair most of the many issues I've had. The most common issue as seen by the many posts is the door switch. The bracket and switch are cheaply made and is the root of the many problems. I've replaced the door switch on a yearly basis and am now at the point of every 5-6 months. Unfortunately it not as easy as just buying a new one as the microwave is no longer made and due to being custom cabinet install, would cost a small fortune to replace. GE has made it, so that you cannot simply replace the microwave, but would need to purchase a new trim kit and possibly need to rework the cabinet to fit the new product. Also, their warranty is useless, as I learned when it cost me for repairs when under warranty (replacing if the door switch) the first year in use. I had hope for GE Profile because I liked the appearance and features, but that faded quick.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I’ve had this microwave since 2008. No problems works like a champ power 1000 wats perfect for veggies, reheating, just about anything. It’s also has large capacity for casserole.
I would recommend this to a friend!
