Not happy with how door latch works

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Not happy with door latch. When you press it to open the door there seems to be a hesitation to wether its going to open or not.

Poor Quality Microwave

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Unfortunately, the quality of the GE Spacemaker microwave is extremely poor. After only about a month of use, the microwave started making a buzzing noise and the glue on the front panel came loose. A tech came, ordered parts. When the parts came in about 1 1/2 wks later, I had to schedule another appt (wait time of another week). "New" parts were put in, but the same buzzing noise occurred and the glue on the front panel still came loose. The tech sd he could order the parts again and I could call back to schedule another appt. Not sure if I'll bother. Unfortunately, this is the only microwave that will fit in my beautiful custom cherry cabinet.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Does not have sound control and is VERY loud

The older version of this product was MUCH better. This version is missing the sound control. As a mother, I do not want this beeping super loud and waking everyone. We have a VERY large house, but the beep can be heard from several floors away. GE designers you removed the best feature on this product other than the size and replaced it with a pile of useless ones. I will return for another manufacturers' product.

Great for under cabinet use

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My only disappointment was the door latch cover. Service took care of this under warranty . I also noticed the same problem while reading previous reviews several months prior to buying. I was disappointed that this was not taken care of before I purchased mine.

This product has performed beyond expecatations

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Everything is working OK. However we are now experiencing a buzzing noise once the power is applied to the magnetron tube. The buzz does dissipate with time the unit is on. Something is loose that connects to the magnetron tube. If the power is reduced from 100% to a lower number, you can hear the buzz stop and come on as the magnetron tube cycles.
I would recommend this to a friend!

About one month after my warranty ended, the paint started to chip and peel off the inside of this unit.

Good looking and fits the space available

In fact, the 800 watts is very powerful (previous oven was 1300, so I expected a fall off). One problem of note: On the first day of use, the stainless trim around the door latch came loose. I have read other reviews with this same problem. My wife wanted to return it, but I super glued it. Seems to me that GE should read these reviews and fix the problem.

need a new microwave

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We remodeled our kitchen 9 years ago and built a cabinet just to have this microwave so we would save space. We've loved it . Now it doesn't work and we have to buy another. I'm worried about the quality after reading other reviews. I hope GE is reading these reviews and changing the parts that are malfunctioning. I also hope that when I buy another spacesaver microwave today that it will last another 9-10 years.
