No replacement with same height

I was happy with this unit but it has died. I wouldn't mind so much if I could find a replacement with similar dimensions. For some reason, GE decided the current model with similar length and width should be 1 inch taller. I now can't find anything to fit my cabinet. Beyond frustrating!

After 10 years my microwave needs to be replaced. I had a kitchen remodel done when I purchased this and now I cannot find a replacement for the space. Can you recommend a model with the exact same dimensions please? Or slightly smaller would be fine also.

Can’t find the perfect replacement

Hi, I currently have GE Countertop microwave PEM31SM4SS. And it stops working since last week. We tried unplugging and plugging. It worked few time, then it stopped working again. Originally we are hoping to get new replacement. However, the model is not in manufactured anymore. We tried GE Profile™ Series 1.1 Cu. which is the official website recommendation for replacement. And we found the newer model size is bigger then our old one that our countertop space won't fit. The new one is about 0.25 inch wider. And height is 1 inch taller. Now we are not sure what to do. And recommendation?

Paint flaking and falling off

The paint is flaking off of the interior and falling into the items we are microwaving (which sounds like a common problem, which makes me think this must be some sort of manufacturer defect). We can hardly clean the interior because every time we try MORE paint flakes off. This is totally unacceptable. Also, the microwave has started to turn on (lights and fan at least) on occasion when we are closing the microwave door. This thing seems to be a piece of junk. It's very disappointing.

Performed as advertised, automation, programing & automatic features helpful; excluding the white enameled interior flaking off in to the items being cooked or warmed I'd say it was good, now if GE stands behind warranty I'll have no issues.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Purchased an entire kitchen of Profile appliance 4 years ago- had to replace the microwave and glass cooktop. All the appliances are cheaply made - GE no longer the quality it used to be.

Quality is questionable

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Just installed the third unit in 12 years. The first one lasted about 9 years and stopped working. The second one was a little over 2 years old when the paint inside started peeling and the latch did not work very well. This is the only product I could find that fits an opening in the cabinet that was built when the kitchen was remodeled about 12 years ago. Hope the new one lasts longer but based on past experience, I'm not sure it will.
