Bought 2, both broke after 2 years

GE quality really has tanked. I've owned 2 of these and both broke, unrepairable after the warranty at 2 years.
I have a 14 year old spacemaker II that still works. I guess Quality is Old School.

Love the Microwave

I love the microwave but lightbulb stopped working 2 years ago and I don’t know how to fix it and when I called GE they said to sent out a technician would cost more than getting a new microwave. But than again I need that size and the new ones are bigger DUMB GE not happy

We have had our microwave for many years, our kitchen cabinet was a certain size to have the microwave sit in it and now that the microwave died, I cannot find one of similar size to fit in the cabinet. Is there any way to find another microwave of this model to purchase?

Very poor quality!

I bought this same microwave over 10-years ago when I remodeled my kitchen. This countertop model was put into a cabinet and used a trim kit was used to give it a built-in look. Really no problems for 10years. I recently replaced the microwave with the current version because I had no trouble with the original one and my options were limited because of being built in to the cabinet.
I could not be more disappointed! First, the light bulb burned out after a couple of weeks! Had to call a service person to change it. A week after that, I was using the reheat feature and when my food was done I took it out, closed the door and the microwave continued to run. I unplugged it and plugged it back in - it continued to run. I call my appliance store and asked for a new microwave, which they provided.
New identical microwave installed now for two days. Another problem! The door latch does not work properly, we have to push it several time to open the door! I was suspicious of this problem before I purchased this microwave because in the applicance showroom the model's latch was broken. That should have been a clue of bad things to come.
So disappointed that this microwave is not near the quality of my previous one. It is not like it was inexpensive - but it is cheap.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Interior paint falls out

Paint peeling from top

Microwave came with house. We have been here a year and a half and now the inside top of microwave is peeling!!
Know have to replace which is a pain !!
Not sure which model would work for the same size?

Was ok when it lasted

Interior paint started peeling off. Microwave a cup of milk for 2 minutes and the microwave shuts down after microwaving. Sometimes screen shuts down and inside light stopped turning on

We are more than happy to provide guidance with this microwave. We recommend resetting your microwave by disconnecting power from the unit for 2 - 3 minutes and reconnecting power. If this reset does not revert the unit back to normal operating function, we recommend viewing replacement options due to the age of the appliance.
