Best Phone I've Ever Had
on December 17, 2012
Posted by: Soul2
If you are looking for a phone that is easy to use with a long battery life then this is the phone for you. Though the phone is big, you'll be thankful for that big screen when you watch videos, browse, or play games. It's called a "phablet" for a reason. It has all of the abilities of a tablet, plus some, combined with the abilities of a phone. You'll get used to the size in no time and will think all others too small or inferior. Texting is easy, especially with the s pen, but also because of swype and the fact that the on screen keyboard is massive. So if you have big fingers this is the phone for you. I am glad I chose this phone..clearly.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Lightweight
Cons: expensive

Best phone out there at this time.....
on December 23, 2012

At this point in time, there is point in bothering with anything else.
Fast, bright, responsive screen. Spen is great. LTE and NFC.
I would recommend you go to store and hold one to see if you are comfortable with a phone this size, but after having the Dell Streak and the first Note I cannot image going below 5 inches for a screen. All phones below that just seem to tiny.
The only con is ATT, and their removal of FM radio and the usual bloatware. Also their lack of support for google wallet and no out of the box option for wireless charging.
Pros: Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, big screen
Cons: what ever your carrier does to dimish the phone.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have had my phone for less that 1 month. I was sitting at the movie theaters and my phine fell out of my pocket (no more than 6 inches) and the screen cracked! POOR quality. I would have assumed it would have been able to with stand more usage.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Realistic color, Lightweight
Cons: poor screen quality
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Device.

This is probably the best mobile device made by Samsung so far. It has great software and hardware features, long lasting battery life and a very nice large screen. Combining the smoothness of the O.S. and the usability of the S-Pen takes this device to a new level of mobile productivity. Great job Samsung!
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display
I would recommend this to a friend!

Best Android Smartphone Yet

This phone is almost perfect for me.
The display is a huge 5.5 inch amoled with an rgb sub pixel layout, not the standard layout but still much better than pentile. The color is unrealistic and oversaturated, but the huge contrast ratio is very striking and pleasing to look at.
The quad core Exynos + 2gb of RAM means that you'll rarely experience any lag with system animations and window transitions, and switching to any app with the task switcher is super quick.
My #1 reason to get this phone is the battery. 8+ hours of continuous video with brightness on auto. I never have to worry about this phone dying before i can get to a charger.
I didn't think I would use the s-pen much and I really don't. I'll occasionally use it with S Note to jot down songs I like (since i'm a DJ), sometimes with multi-window. The most essential s-pen feature for me is air-view. It allows you to open all those mouse over menus you see on lots of modern desktop websites, normally you would have to tap on it, which typically takes you to another page.
The camera/camcorder is identical to the GS3 so it is quite good.
My least favorite part of this device are the home, menu, and back buttons. I'd rather have soft keys. The button order is strange, the capacitive buttons are too big and too sensitive, I constantly bump them when holding this phone in landscape. In landscape, I have to hold the phone in a kind of awkward way that doesn't feel secure at all. The buttons also don't work with the s-pen. Customizable software keys would have solved all of this.
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight, battery life
Cons: body can be slippery, expensive, physical and capacitive buttons
I would recommend this to a friend!

Good Phone that Verizon Messed With
on January 4, 2013

The Galaxy Note 2 is a great phone with excellent performance, battery life, and general design. What has really been an annoyance for me is how much Verizon has tried to brand this phone as "theirs." I feel that they have really squeezed consumers and even Samsung by plastering their logo onto the phone in a larger, much more prominent place than the Samsung logo; Verizon did not make this phone! They have even locked down the boot-loader; Something no other carrier has done. But enough of my rant. The hardware is excellent, and Samsung has really put their all into making this phone a beast. It is still good in my book, and with a little know-how, you can even remove Verizon's mess entirely from the phone. Overall, if you want a great phone, and can deal with a bit of Verizon foolery, this phone is a great choice.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Bright display, Durable, Realistic color, Lightweight, large display, fast processor, great camera
Cons: verizon!
