I have purchased Canon products for the last 20+ years and have found no need to look at any other products. I have recommended Canon to others for years and feel confident in doing so.
Pros: good battery life, Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use

I bought this camera to take pics of my grandson at football..Now I take my camera everywhere I go. Its easy, It takes a great pic everytime. If I shake,it takes care of that. I wont ever buy anything but a canon everagain. This camera is worth ever penny I paid for it. Thanks Canon

This is my third Canon digital camera, and I really love it. I have got some really great video at concerts with it. I will only buy Canon, as they have the best IQ and quality.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable
Cons: Poor Low-Light Performance

Great all around camera

When looking for a digital camera on a budget, I was wanting a DSLR, but didn't have the money for one. I bought my S5-IS in a package deal and was able to get a wide angle lens and a doubler. The zoom power of this camera is great and the image stabilizatin works great and with the extra lens, it is outstanding. There are more whistles and bells that this modestly price camera has that once you start using them makes this camera a great investment. It is user friendly enough that an amatuer can use it and a more advance photographer will have fun with all the extras. I have be extremely happy with my purchase of this camera. The only downside is taking night shots aren't one of it's best qualities. Overall, it is a wonderfully fun camera.

i am a picture-taking freak. This camera takes unbelievably clear pictures. transferring them to the laptop is a snap. There are a lot of features, yet, easy to figure out and use each one. I did a lot of research before purchasing this camera (to me, this is a big purchase) and i'm glad i made the choice that i did. the battery life is excellent. The flash might be a little slow at warming up, but, i can deal with it b/c the pictures come out good so its worth the wait.

Awesome 1st Camera!

I got this camera over a year ago and it is awesome. The videos are awesome and I love how you can zoom in while taking a video. Moving pictures are great. Just a good camera. I would totally recomend the Canon PowerShot S5 IS

bought the camara last year really enjoyed and hoped to get into photography more. Havent had the time to sit with the camera to figure it all out. I really want to get a smaller camera now to carry with me this one is too big. Its not bad if I'm out just to take pictures but havent had the time for it.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, good battery life
Cons: Heavy/Bulky

Great camera

This camera is an excellent, easy to use camera with many great features. The zoom is excellent. I took at least 500 soccer shots. Many were action shots taken from a distance. I had them blown up and the sharpness was fabulous. The macro setting is also very crisp. My only complaint that I have also found with other cameras, is that the lens cap comes off very easily exposing the lens.
