Half the modes are useless

Canon hs a HUGE problem with the Rebel XTI under exposing shots using one of the automatic modes. For in door party shots a $200 point and shot will do better. Many of my photos have way too much red and are dark. Many forums have people claiming the same thing. Even the experience photographers adit there is an issue and the only solution is to NOT use the automatice modes, but instead use the more manual modes. It's really sad.
Pros: good photos when the lighting is perfect
Cons: doe snto perform as well as p&s indoors

4 year life span

This is the third canon product, and first digital slr. Takes great quality photos. My digital camera stopped working after only 4 years of home use. For the price I thought the camera would have the same life span as canons other non digital slrs

"Busy" all the time
on December 28, 2009

Often in the auto focus mode my photos come out blurry. But my biggest problem is that the camera won't function because it is "busy." I am not sure what "busy" really means, but I am constantly frustrated waiting for it not to be "busy" so I can take a picture.
If I have time to set everything to manual and wait out the "busy" period it takes great photos. I just don't always have time and would like to be able to use the auto focus setting.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use
Cons: Poor image quality, Slow Start-up time

Very disappointed with Rebel XTi

I had a Canon Rebel XT at work and it worked great for along time. So I bought a Rebel XTi for home and it has worked well for the past 2 years.
However, within the past 2 months, both my work and home cameras have totally died. I really believed Canon sold quality cameras, but now I have my doubts. Shouldn't a camera last longer than 2 years?

I've had the camera for over a year. Functions and choices are good. Operations is good. Built in flash is average. Disappointed in the softness of the photos. I've made Adjustments internally in the camera to improve this problem, but to no avail.
Pros: good battery life, quiet, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable
Cons: Poor image quality, Complicated controls/menu

I have had this camera for 2 + years. I take more pics than most people, I try to everyday. When I get a good pic, It is nice, clear, good color. My problem is that out of 100 pics only 10 are keepers, and only 2 are "great". Most of the time the pics are blurry. I've upgraded to the 70-200 L series lens. I allways use manual settings, I think the auto focus is not detecting the correct range. Is there any way to sync (I know the camera detects what type of lens is on the camera, but its like mine is off just a little. Manual focus is where i usually get the better pics. the sweet spot for my lens is either 3.2 or the 7"s. Im thinking up upgradeing to the D7 this winter. thanks
Pros: Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, good battery life
Cons: blurry pics

When taking pics with the XTi in full auto mode and using the Kit 18-55 EFS lens, my pictures often times come out under exposed.
