I bought this camera at the end of April and have been nothing but satisfied! Great value for all you get. Start with this and you will soon be on your way to the best photos with little effort!

What a great camera. The photos i take look amazing. I know many people have had a problem with the auto point shoot indoors and under exposure. Since i only ever use manual focusing i have never experienced this problem. I like having total control of my shots. I would tell any one interested in this camera not to hesitate! If the auto point shoot is a problem then upgrade to the XSI. I have also used that and it doesnt have that issue. But you will pay much more.
Pros: Superior build quality, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, quiet, Quick Start-up time, Solid Operation, easy to use, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life

Excellent Camera

I purchased a Canon XTI in 2007 and have had nothing but a great experience. I easily learned the functions and buttons and they are laid out well.
Custom picture styles, great at handling high ISO's, not as bulky as the more expensive DSLR's.
I have been able to take fantastic photos and I have no desire to upgrade to anything else, this camera does all I need for the photos I take. I am very pleased.

My second Digital SLR the XTi

This is my second Digital SLR, the first was the Canon XT which i used for 2 1/2 years before getting this camera the XTi.
To me a Canon camera fan for about 12 years I believe this is one of their best low range price cameras. I have use it now for about a year. It has all the functions of my previous camera all the way back to the 35 mm ones. I recommend it.

I got this camera for christmas when I was in high school working on my high school newspaper, and I've had it for 5 years now. I can say that it's always been trusty, never really given me any grief, and I never really have problems with "busy" because I rarely shoot in automatic, unless there's a lot of light. The problem I have with my Rebel is how noisy it is. Only being able to reach 1600 ISO, I don't have a lot of control with lowlight. I've been shooting concerts since 2009, and I always have to do a bunch of processing if the lighting is really low. I don't even shoot in RAW because the noise in RAW is even worse than in JPEG.
Pros: Nice features/settings, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: noisy, Slow Start-up time, Short battery life

At 1st I thought this was a good camera. It is my 1st digital slr. After awhile I started noticing some issues. The biggest complaint I have is how it says it's busy all the time. Not sure why. But when it happens, I can't view a picture or take a picture. I have missed many photo opportunities bec/ of this happening. Another thing I don't like is when I shoot in the Bulb setting and say I leave my shutter open for 30 sec., it will take 30 sec. to read the photo, so once again I have missed many photo oppotunities when shooting lightning bec/ of this. The quality of photos isn't all that great either. Alot of washed out looking photos. I have to enhance a lot of them.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
