Learn to use the manual settings
on April 23, 2009

This camera is awesome. It's a great camera for beginners and well as professionals. People who are complaining about the auto modes need to learn how to use the manual settings and focus. Once you do I doubt you'll ever have a complaint about this camera again.
Pros: Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, quiet, Quick Start-up time, easy to use, good battery life
Cons: wish the shutter speed when a little higher

This is my first DSRL camera and i have been very pleased with it. I hope to upgrade later. I have not had any problems with this camera. I keep reading reviews about underexposed pictures and too much of a certain color. Listen, you need to learn how to use your camera before you go and putting it down. I had the same problem, but then i learnt how to fix that problem. I haven't had any problems with unexposed photos. If someone is reliant on a flash, then just get a point and shoot. Otherwise, this is a good camera to start with.

This is my first Digital SLR. I had been using my reliable Canon AE-Program I have had since my tour in Korea in
1983. I bought this camera instead of the sx20is Canon.
I am so glad I did. The only thing this camera is missing is
video capablity. That is OK because my cell (Sprint EVO)
has 720p video. This camera makes me get up early and
go to bed late, due to the posiblities available both day and night. I have a 24-70 lens and a 55-250. This kit with my polorizer is a catch all for me. I will spend quite some time with this one.
Pros: good battery life, Quick Start-up time, excellent image quality, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable

Rebel XTi 400D

I received my Rebel in June of this year and have taken over 30,000 pictures with this camera. The learning curve is very good for this camera and I love the action shots with burst mode. As a entry level SLR camera I am pleased with the many features this camera has.
I have already purchased two lenses and love the quality of each photo I take.
Pros: clarity of photos
Cons: poor balance with zoom lens

I really like this camera because the day i got it i could figure everything out really quickly. It is comfortable to use and it is just great overall. My only problem is it wont focus all the way ever so i have to take it off of automatic focus and put it into manual. Which really isnt all that bad. Other than that it is great.

Excellent body

I have used Canon for a long time. This camera has made me look like a pro. I have sold many of my photos in the community as I have them made into Giclee paintings and they look like an oil painting. As another user said, you have to get out of your comfort zone with the auto setttings and learn how to use the P<TV>AV> setttings. It's not so tough to figure it out if you experiment!
Have a good time with your Canon!
Pros: Superior build quality, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, quiet, Quick Start-up time, Solid Operation, easy to use, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life
