Cools great. Smells awful.

Unit is six years old,and cools great. It's only real issue has been there from the first use. Any time the unit is running, but not cooling due to room temp, the air output smells awful, like mold or mildew. This is even when tipped back, and additional drainage added. For that reason alone, we run it to a colder temp so it cools more often than not.
It has been disassembled for cleaning every other year because the interior of the back coils get disgusting with debris, and the styrofoam clean air box develops a thin layer of black mold like substance inside it.
Upon re-assembly this year, the motor has developed an awful noise, so it may not be with us much longer.
Also, this is our 2nd Frigidaire unit with same issue. The other was a 5000 Btu. Other brands before this did not smell, especially with only the fan running.

Quiet, Easy Install & Great Features

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This unit was purchased over a month ago to cool the large work shop over my garage.
On the hottest days of the year - 90 plus & high humidity the unit performed flawlessly dropping the temperature to a comfortable 72-74 throughout the shop. The unit ran to the set temp and once reached went into the fan only mode until the room temp rose.
The remote feature is great as is the low noise from the unit. A great buy fro a respected company.

Very tough units
