It is so easy even for a senior person to understand. The only con I have is the battery life. I have taken some great pictures with it and now I am doing a inventory of personal items. It is just great.
Pros: Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Short battery life

I purchased my camera at the Sydney Australia Int'l Airport on my way home to the USA from competing in the 2000 Sydney Paralympics on the U.S. Equestrian Team. I have not had a minutes trouble in the last 14 yrs with this camera. It is still performing like a champ - unfortunately I've misplaced the cable that downloads the photos to my PC when I moved my PC from my house to my parents house just last week here in Michigan and tried to order another and it appears to be out of stock. I've traveled to England with this camera and had others use it to take photos for me and they have all turned out good. I have no complaints what-so-ever and when or if this camera dies - I want another Canon just like it.

Excellent Starter Camera

Enjoy the features of the camera have taken lots of pictures with it. Reason I rate the quality of the camera with only a 3-star because we get a lens error when we turn the camera on (2X warranty repair work). But I give Canon warranty repair process a 5 star outstandingt!

Cons: Poor Low-Light Performance, Short battery life, lens error

Great purchace for the price!

This is a really good camera for the price I paid. It has a wide variety of settings and the pictures are pretty good quality. I LOVE how many pictures it takes with ONE memory card. I was expecting like 500-600 pics. per 2GIG memory card and it takes over 2000! The macro feature is nice too. It has a longer delay than I'd like after it takes a picture and the batteries drain REALLY fast. I also would like a little better zoom. I think it's a good camera though, and I would recommend it to a beginner or someone who wants to have a smaller camera to take everywhere with them. I'm glad I got it.
Pros: easy to use, Nice features/settings, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, nice compact construction, attractive, takes tons of pictures with one memory card
Cons: Short battery life, not enough zoom, not the greatest image quality, movies take up lots of space

Good Backup

This is a good backup camera. While the batteries don't last long the fact that they are AA which are available everywhere is one of its best features. The pictures are decent. It fits just right in the glovebox ready to use when you see something like an unusual sunset, or animal etc. The quality is better then that of a cell phone. It isn't the camera one would take when when going out to take pictures but for the glovebox it works quite well.

Bulky but great

I have owned several Canon Powershot series cameras and they perform really well. I have had the A560 for about 2.5 years and it's about time I buy a smaller camera (i'm purchasing a Canon Elph SD940is).
The A560 is durable and it is still in great conditions! The only problem I have with the A560 is that it is too bulky to carry with me all the time. The fact that it uses AA batteries is actually great, the only thing is that you must have rechargeable batteries and a battery charger. Regular disposable batteries won't last for a day with a camera like this.
The flash is great and the Macro mode is better than average. I don't think it performs very well in low-light conditions. Overall it's a good purchase if you don't mind the extra volume and if you have a battery charger.

good camera

This camera's only fault is the fact that its so heavy but even that can be a plus. The picture quality is terrific it picks up even the tiniest things.
Pros: Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Short battery life, Heavy/Bulky, eats batterys
