I LOVE THIS CAMERA

The canon A560 was my very first digital camera when I bought it in 2007. I researched and bought and returned so many cameras trying to find one that I could be happy with. I bought this camera and have REFUSED to give it up. It is finally on its last leg and I still cannot find a camera that compares to it. I have used it to take photos for friends and no one can tell that they are not professional photos! It does not have a bunch of bells and whistles, but that is fine with me. I need good quality photos, not whistles. It is easy to switch modes, it is easy to get good resolution, the zoom on this camera and the quality in the zoom is unmatched. I will mourn this camera when it finally stops working.
Pros: photo quality in zoom, price
Cons: delay between photos
I would recommend this to a friend!

Bought this as a back-up, as original Cannon A70 was being repaired at the factory. This A560 is a very good camera for all types of pictures. Compact size, easy to slip right into a pocket. Curriently using both cameras, and if I were to buy another, it would be a Cannon
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great Point and Shoot

I use this camera for quick shots when I am unable to grab my Canon 30D on the fly. It takes great shots and I really like the Macro Feature. For a basic camera for a new photographer and advanced users who want a handy camera to carry in the car or briefcase/purse this is a great value. I use rechargable batteries and always have the spare set with me. I get long life from them even when using the flash.
Pros: easy to use, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable
I would recommend this to a friend!

I have had this Camera for two years and use it as a back-up for my Canon SLR Camera (the rebel XTi). I like the fact that it is powered by two AA batteries, it is light wight and has provided me with excellent images. I carry it when it is not practical to use the XTi. I bought one for my daughter as well. The battery life is fine if you turn off the camera between uses. Its menu items are similar to those of my SLR camera
Pros: easy to use, Nice features/settings, Bright LCD, excellent image quality, Good Low-Light Performance, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, durable

I love the size, the large LCD screen and the overall performance. However,as with anything used on a regular basis that takes batteries, this is no exception..they run down quick.I have a solution..buy more batteries, you won't regret it!!

I've been using my A560 for a couple of years now and I've always been happy with the results. The battery does run down fast but I've learned to shut the camera off I also learned the hard way to carry a spare which isn't a big deal.
You really do need to play with the camera for awhile to learn what it can do before you start taking pictures- so it's going to disapoint people who think this is just a point and click device. It's not. However, once you get to know the camera you'll love it.
Cons: Complicated controls/menu, Short battery life

To Many Batteries

We purchased the Cannon PowerShot A560 for our four children to use in their 4-H Photography project. The children do a great job remembering who took which picture. They've not fought over a picture that wasn't there's. Besides that we bought them each a SD card of their own, and wrote their names on the SD card for identification. We all love the camera, I even use it.
This is their 3rd Christmas with their camera, and I feel that the camera is on it's last journey. The lens cover doesn't always open correctly. You have to always make sure it opens. The camera is very durable, but I dropped the camera on a wire grind. When it hit the wire, at just the right angle, the battery door sprung open, and a very small piece of plastic, that was important at holding the door closed, broke off. I believe this is what has causes our camera to go through so many batteries, because the battery door stays slightly opened all the time now. Which I think causes the battery energy to escape.
Other than these 2 complaints. We love the camera, it produces great award winning picture for my children, and they have fun with it. Even when my youngest was 5 yrs old he could manage this camera.
Pros: Good Low-Light Performance, Nice features/settings, excellent image quality, durable, Bright LCD, Lightweight/Portable, Simple controls/menu, easy to use
Cons: Short battery life

Not good enough!

This camera takes a full 5 seconds between shots to set-up for the next shot. By that time, the image has passed you by. The long delay between shots is frustrating. It is very difficult to get a clear shot when the image/subject makes even the smallest movement. Very frustrating. The worst part is the camera provides no warning that images will be lost when the memory card is reformatted. I just lost 864 pictures with one press of the button - no warning.
