Exceptional camera with extra features

I am ecstatically happy, in every sense, with my trusty Canon A560. I have owned it for 2 years now and I am so enthralled that every camera I buy in the future will be a Canon also! I can't rave enough about this awesome compact dynamo!!! It is so feature-packed and possesses such great state-of-the-art technologies found in usually much higher priced cameras. It has a lot of bang for your buck! The greatest thing about this camera is the ease of setup and use beginning with exceptionally easy to navigate menus. I have helped friends with their other major brand cameras and found the menus and nomenclature to be hard to deciphre. The ease of use, in the full auto mode (the green setting on the selector dial), is worthy of our trust to let this intelligent wonder-of-a-camera choose all the settings. I believe it may be the all-time "BEST" choice for people who just want to enjoy a camera and get crisp, clear shots every time, with the least amount of fuss. If you know basically how to frame a shot well and a little about basic composition and subject selection you can take award winning perfect shots with it with such simple ease! I have had it a long enough time to see that even the outer markings and logo have not weakened or rubbed off as with some cheap cameras. It still looks and functions as the day I bought it and I am very proud to own this camera and even brag and boast about it to others! The video mode can be set in a 60 frames per second mode, which is the same as broadcast TV signal standards for clear, non-choppy, smooth video playback. It is a simply marvellous and very affordable camera! Thank you for reading my review, I hope you believe all that I've said here and get one of your own! Carl

Very Good Camera

My best friend bought me this camera as a Christmas present about two years ago in 2007. I have to tell you that this is one of the best presents I have ever gotten. No matter what setting or resolution you set for the pics, they always look crystal clear. The video quality is excellent, I use this camera a lot for taking my home movies and they look great when I burn them to DVD. The only drawback to the video is that it takes up a boatload of memory, I put in a 1 GB SD card and I could only get 16 minutes of video in high quality mode. The battery life on it is terrible, I've had days where I'm out taking pictures all day and by the end of the day I have low battery. Eventually I went out and bought some rechargeables because I was going through a set of batteries every other day. None the less it's a high quality camera and I still use it today

Cons: Short battery life, Heavy/Bulky, memory hog

Great Camera

We have had this camera for three years, Great Camera for the money, have gotten some great shots with the A560. Would recommend to anyone.

FDor now this camera is all I need

If you buy Energizer Lithium batteries they will last fpor months of picture taking. I couldn't live without the foilage setting because I love to take pictures of my flowers.

easy to use

Own A560 & A75 they are the eaey ones that I ever had.
Having only one arm these are easy to hold on to and the zoom is located by the shutter button.so comformable and easy to use.The the design is the best for poeple with handicaps

Good For Entry Level

I own a Canon Powershot A560 and overall have been really happy with it. I got it when I was first getting into photography. I take photos/videos of trains. It was very good for that. Now I will write a review about the photos and videos.
Photos are good shots. I'm always happy when I see the final product of my shot. Especially for the price I paid for the camera. The camera is very good a picking up the subject (which in most cases with me was trains) and then delivering a nice focused shot right on the subject. The camera is very good in full light (daylight) conditions. Now the one this this camera does not do to well is take low light shots. You can turn the ISO from 80 to 1600 but it's still not at it's forte. Many photos come out blurry and unfocused. The camera is great for day shots.
For the video. I used the video feature for a long time and shot hundreds of trains with the camera before I upgraded to my Canon FS200. The video feature is good overall. It takes a good quality of video. It is able to focus on whatever you're shooting really well. It also picks up really good audio. I have never had a problem with the quality of the video or audio. The part this camera lacks is a quality zoom. You can give up on the zoom for videos. It comes out grainy and blurry. So don't get this camera if you really need or want a good zoom. Overall the videos come out well.
This is a very good entry level camera that would make a perfect Holiday present. The camera will lead you into photography and videography. It's been a really good camera for me and still use it today.
