I bought this washer in 2012 and have had nothing but problems. The electronics failed in 2014. It began to leak in the tub in 2015.
I would recommend this to a friend!

I love my GE washer

I bought this washer about 8 yrs ago and it has been the best washer ever, and any problems that I have had has always been so easy to repair myself.

Horrible washer!

Overflowed & flooded my basement on the Super setting. The agitator is awful! Tore straps off my tank tops, put holes in my clothes & frequently wrapped clothes so tightly around the agitator, it had to untangle. This machine was the worst! Finally replaced it today.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We bought this washer before we started our family. It lasted us a good 14 years and for this reason made sure to keep GE in the top three MFG's and just purchased a new GE.
I would recommend this to a friend!

About 6yr then died

Purchased about 6 years ago.
Some early leaking, after about a year transmission had trouble with large loads.
Today, no agitation/spinning.
Found blown fuse hidden inside wire bundle, replaced fuse.
Transmission agitated a little on the test drain/spin cycle I set up, then stopped and began to smoke!
The transmission is actually an Inverter, likely the single most expensive item in the washer.

Smells like something was burning.

Worked well for years, but it soon became super loud and shaky. Then one day it made a loud banging sound. I had to disconnect the washer to stop it. I opened it smelled like something was burning, but clothes were still intact.

I absolutely HATE this washing machine!

I have never owned a washing machine in my life that has ruined so many clothes! Anything with any kind of strap or string gets wound so tight around the middle that it breaks the first time! There is no way to prevent this from happening, I am currently out hundreds of dollars worth of clothes that are machine washable, I cannot wait to get rid of this stupid washing machine!
