After less than two years the washer started making a terrible noise during agitation. The noise coincided with a precipitous drop in wash quality. I removed the sensor magnet from the lid just to see if it was agitating, and it was limp and pitiful. About half of the time it won't even finish the cycle...have to hit "Drain and Spin" and then run the rinse which often fails again. Did not want a GE product in the first place, but well meaning parents bought it for us. Next time I'll be more forceful.

This machine started leaking after the first year! It is currently 3 years old & makes an awful noise when it starts to agitate. I am currently looking for a new washing machine already!!

Had this washer for a few years and it's been a total train wreck from the beginning. Leaks, screetches when agitating, and finally....transmission locked up the other day. Will never own another GE appliance again. There, I feel better.

This washing machine stinks

We have had nothing but problems with overflowing when it is on super cycle and will not spin. We have had repairman out to fix these problems, it works for a while and then reverts back to the problem. I would say this washer has failed GE. My last GE lasted me for 15 years.

Loud noise, didn't last 5 years. Garbage. Did not wash clothes well enough. Detergent left on clothes after rinsing twice. Softener stains on clothes

Well, I've had my washer now for 11 years and have not had any major issues with it. Good starter machine, great for large and small loads, quiet .

A washer should last longer than five years and not be financially unadvisable to repair one day after it's SHORT one year warranty.
