New Washing Experience

I went from a small top load machine with an agitator and zero technology to an extra large capacity high efficiency machine with lots of sensing capability, so I am learning along the way. Something seemed off with the water level when I did the first 2 loads. I knew the water level would be low so I ignored my intuition for the first load. I also ignored the "H2O Supply" indicator (but that's because I needed to change the corroded faucets, or at least I thought). Those clothes came out bunched into balls and highly wrinkled. Seemed cleaned though so I left it go. But when it started to happen in the second load, I went to the GE website to see if I could find some advice. Sure enough, there was a trouble shooting video that seemed to fit my predicament - the tub filling and emptying at the same time. I went through the video and found out that the drain hose was shoved too far into the drain pipe, creating a syphoning effect. Gave the hose a little tug to install it to the proper length and voila! My tub now fills to an adequate level and I actually have suds.

Bought machine august 2015, installed 9/15 and i have had the same leak issue three times. First time, tech was unable to locate, second time (and three visits later) they seemed to fix leak coming from pretreat/bleach dispenser, now it is leaking worse then before, all in a 1 year remodeled laundry room. not pleased. otherwise we are pleased with the machine.

Poor washing

This machine damaged our clothing leaving white or light streaks on the washed items. Women's under garments do not get wet so the don't get clean.

Great washer build on a time tested platform

I've been wanting another "harmony" style machine for a while and was able to get this at a great price. I have 2 washers and dryers. This one replaced my functioning front load machine that I've hated. This unit has all the benefits of a front load washer without the drawbacks of the balancing, poor washing, and musty smells that front load machines typically have. My other washer is a GE Harmony model whose design has stood the test of time since the model was introduced in 2002. I like that it saves water and power yet still manages to wash well. It's also one of few washers large enough to wash sheets, comforters, and pillows. The other great thing is that this washer is made in America, so not only do I get a great product, but I get to support my fellow Americans

Nightmare!
on December 2, 2016

Our new washer and dryer were delivered 9/30/2016, on 11/23/2016 while washing bed sheets, there was a loud noise. We thought it was thunder until I went to switch loads. The agitator had separated and shredded itself. We can't find the piece that is missing. The drum has dents from it. We called GE, they said the soonest they could get someone out was December 7th. We spoke to the and told them what happened and what broke. Parts were going to get ordered. On December 1st someone came out and looked at it (no parts with him) The soonest this will get fixed is might be December 15th.
