Love the features

This washer is unlike any I have had. It has great capacity, uses just enough water, can do bigger loads than I thought and I like the fact I don't have to set the water level as it does it for you.
I would recommend this to a friend!

The worst machine E V E R !!!!!!

I bought this as a pair just two years ago. I absolutely love the steam dryer which is one of the best machines I've owned in 40 years. However, the washing machine is absolutely the worst. I went from 12 yo top loaders to the newest front loaders which did a fantastic job of washing and drying but I got really annoyed at dropping the clean clothes on the floor when transferring from the washer to the dryer. So I made the huge mistake of thinking that the agitatorless new top loaders were the answer. WRONG. I have to manually add between 5 and 7 gallons of water at the beginnning of the cycle during the sensing load phase to get enough water to actually COVER the clothes. Otherwise, half of the loads (and I don't over fill) remain ABOVE the measly water line. Full sections of sheets and towels never get wet and are completely dry upon the end of the cycle. Additionally the machine doesn't provide enough agitation to clean the clothes. At least in the lower fill front loaders the clothes are being tumbled through the water creating enough friction to clean stains. I hate this washer so much that I'm about to donate it to some other unsuspecting consumer via Habitat for Humanity. I find it amazing that there are any 5 star reviews when this machine deserves a big ZERO.

Wont last long, nearly impossible to service

Went bust after 8 years. Doesnt clean well since its high efficiency and has no agitator. Part of the finish came off and rust is showing underneath the lid. Not something i would expect from a relatively new machine. Extremely difficult to take apart for self service and diagnosis. Simply removing the top lid to inspect the drum and other components requires removing the control board, water valve, and pressure sensor. Parts may be under warranty but service is not. Just bought a Maytag to replace it. Nobody sensible pays for service since the cost will get you more than halfway to buying a new appliance and you will still be stuck with an old machine.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Love the washer

I've had a GE washer for 11 years and it finally died so I bought this one last week and we love it. The clothes are practically dried after the spin cycle, that my dryer barely has to do much work. The 5.1cu basket can fit 2 loads, which is double what what had before with my 3.5cu unit. It's only been a week, but its looking great so far.

The capacity is great. It cleans well. Features are great. Easy to add items once it gets started. Never gets unbalanced. Cover does get easily covered in fingerprints and is hard to keep clean.

The control panel broke after two weeks! This was a replacement washer for another GE HE top loader that GE wasn't able to fix....
