Finish wears off after a few years

I liked this product for the cost and functionality. Finish wears down and starts peeling, lock can seize up after a couple of years as well.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] JUST INSTALLED THIS LOCK AND I MUST SAY THE LOCK HAS A CLASSY LOOK AND WORKS VERY SMOOTH. THE LOCK BARREL IS MADE OF QUALITY METAL AND IT IS HEAVY, MEANING IT IS MADE SOLIDLY. THE KEYPAD BUTTONS PUSH EASILY AND COME BACK OUT ALL THE WAY. I HAD A DIFFERENT COMBO LOCK THERE BEFORE AND THE KEYPAD BUTTONS ALL WAYS GOT STUCK. WELL WORTH THE MONEY. I REALLY LIKE THAT IT IS A COMB. LOCK AND YOU CAN ALSO USE A KEY IF SOMETHING DID HAPPEN TO THE ELECTRONICS.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Worth Repeating!

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We originally purchased one of these for our back door, after about a year, we decided to install one on the front door as well, and I'm seriously considering another for the service door on our detached garage.
Both of the locks in use were easy to install, the directions provided are very well written and the illustrations are clear and easy to understand. Both locks have also performed flawlessly, the only thing that I've needed to do is to file the strike plate on the back door to ease deadbolt engagement. The only (minor) thing is that the finish on the outside component of the back door lock has become discolored with time, but everything still works just fine.
We just love that we can't lock ourselves out of the house with these, that we can set codes for other people to enter the house when we're not here (and then erase them), and that the lock cylinders are well made and pick resistant. All in all, a great product!
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great product

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] My wife raves about how nice it is to get in the house without keys. It went together very well. Get the video on utube to show you how to install it. The only disappointment was that the feature that lets you re key it did not work with my old key. The key ways were different.

I bought this lock for my house and it is so easy to leave home. We just close the door and the automatic lock activates. Makes it easy for kids to enter home.

Bad Quality Control

I bought this recently and it does not work. I am more than a bit of a diy kind of guy. Usually able to work around minor problems that happen in projects. But the male electronic plug would not snap into the female. Should not be a problem as it is clearly labeled "UP." Did not have side "guiding" extrusions that would insure proper alignment, but then again there is only one way to align it. The prongs appear straight. So apparent reason that it would not just snap in.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
