Works half the time

have had this for over a year. Sometimes it unlocks, sometimes it just makes a lot of noise and doesn't. Sometimes it just beeps.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We'd love to help you get your SmartCode working in perfect order, to do that we're going to have a consumer service team member reach out to you who can diagnose and implement a fix your SmartCode 909 Deadbolt. Beeping, combined with the slow or no response that you're describing could mean that a simple battery change is all that is needed, but someone will be in contact to be sure.

One less key

I have too many keys and store loyalty tags and cards so it is great that my homes door is finally key free. And it is better than my car because although the car is "key free" I still must have the fob which is a pain in the butt (I carry it in my back pocket).
Also it is great to go get the mail, visit neighbors and mow the lawn. I do not have to carry keys and can still lock the door for when I am in back and out of sight of the door

Takes the hassle out of lost keys

We've been using the Smart Code 909 for about a year, and not only was it easy for me to install, (it was as simples as a regular doorknob) I am so glad we decided to purchase one. We never had an "electronic" door lock before, always used keys, but this is really great. I mean, it makes sense - we have a keypad lock on the garage, that we used to go in and out of the house all the time - why not get the same for the front door? It's easy to use, we all know the code, nobody worries about forgetting a key, or ever being locked out. And, I can hear when someone comes in the front door now, as the buttons beep when you press them, so I like that little bit of aded security too. I am so far happy with the quality, as I have had no issues, no problems etc. I think that after having this electronic deadbolt, I will never go back to a "regular" key lock on the front door again.

Just what I wanted.

Installed over 6 months ago. Easy to install and program. Now we can go walking or kayaking without worrying about the keys.

Great features, easy to change key & priced right

We purchased 6 Kwikset - Smartcode 909 deadbolts for our two rental properties. This provided an easy way to provide secure entry for each guest. We have been very pleased with the results. Our guests enjoy the keypad for its easy entry for each guest. We the owners and property managers enjoy the ease of changing codes whenever we want. We look forward to expanding to other rental properties in the future.

Have had a few attempted break ins but this deadbolt is tough. Works great also not needing a key and having a friend come let the dogs out. Just need to replace the door handle soon with a Kwikset
