Love it. I don't need to carry key why walking my dog.

Great Lock!

I bought this lock over six months ago. Easy to install and works flawlessly. Many times we go for a walk/jog and, before the new lock, we would leave our back door unlocked because we didn't want to carry the keys. NOT NOW! Just push the button, door locked, then just push the code when we return. It's also very handy for our kids and neighbors when they are checking on our house when we're gone. Should have bought one sooner.

I bought this lock in January and all I have to say is it is the best lock I have bought in a long time. It was a very easy installation and super easy to use!

Keyless entry at the beach

We live along the Atlantic coast in humid Florida. The sea spray and salty humidity is murder on metal. When we moved in, the front door hardware looked like something dredged from the bottom of the ocean. Our new Kwikset Smartcode deadbolt offered four advantages. First, the finish is pretty tough and cleans off well. The bronze hardware accents our stained glass door. Second, the Smartcode deadbolt means I don't risk losing my keys in the beach sand or ocean while swimming. Third, when we are away, if the alarm goes off, I can phone the key code to the police or a neighbor to enter the property and investigate/mitigate. Finally, by simply doing a Kwikset key reset we can use the same key for all our other Kwikset doors.

Since purchasing the electronic deadbolt I no longer carry a house key. We can unlock the door quickly and easily. Functions perfectly every time. At 1 year old the alkaline batteries are getting a little low motor runs slowly.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Easy to install.
Easy to use.
I use it for keyless entry and keyless lockup when bicycle commuting.
Long battery life, still using the original set of batteries (two years so far).
Tip: when creating a code use only odd or only even numbers; I used 8 digits. (using 7 might be easier to remember and/or to hide in your address book you carry)
