Same home key, great features.

After working all day and driving home, I just want to get inside my home and unwind. As I dig for my key, I realize that I can just use my master code and enter. So much easier indeed. Once inside, I notice the cleaning service came today and used the 'Alt' door code I provided for them so they may have in/out access to perform their job. (no keys needed) I change this code each time to provide added security between services. Once I lock the door for the night from the inside, I see a 'blinking red' light that lets me know the door is locked. Headed for secure sleep.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Battery case failure It will not connect to lock

My battery case failed and cracked on me now I can't seem to arm my lock

I bought these locks two years ago so provide keyless entry to my home. One feature I particularly liked is the automatic lock. The lock is reliable except that occasionally they get themselves into a situation where no matter what I do, the locks will not unlock or even respond until unlocked manually from the inside. I don't know why this happens, but it certainly prevents me from giving a five star rating.

I stupidly) bought the Kwikset SmartCode 909 twice

The first one I bought, I had a locksmith install it. Unfotunately the re-keying did not work, then the battery died within a few weeks. Booked another locksmith to open it - they couldn't, so they destroyed the lock, and we finally regained access to the room.
I bought a replacement, the exact same product, and the exact same thing happened. Re-keying failed, battery died after 5 weeks, and we now can't get into the room.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Absolute Garbage

I’m currently sitting in my driveway locked out of my house cuz this piece of crap is in a steady locking motion after I hit the lock button. There is not one piece of troubleshooting addressing this issue on this website or the internet. I cannot even use my key cuz it’s in a steady locking motion that won’t allow the key to turn and support is closed on Sundays, of course. Did I mention it’s 39 degrees and snowing in Michigan right now??

They can't all be as bad as mine...can they?

Unreliable. Only works occasionally. Constantly displays error messages. play with the buttons and work it manually and it will work properly for the next few hours or maybe a day or two before it fails. Batteries last about a month with very light use. I've replaced the battery box 3 times due to corrosion. This one at least is total garbage. Today (12/3/22) i finally gave up and removed the batteries and will use it manually from here on. If you buy this one good luck to yo.

Works great, battery and keypad issues

I have2 smart code deadbolts and have had them for 6 years. 1 still works great and uses a set of batteries every year. The second has had 2 keypads for replacement and was using a set of batteries 2 - 3 times a year. About two years ago it stopped working totally. Now I just use is as a deadbolt. Over all 1 is excellent the other is unacceptable. Hence my average rating.
