The washer smells

I have to leave the door open after every wash or the machine smells like mildew. All the features are nice but I've maybe used two.

I purchased my washer in August and I like it but was unfamiliar with front loaders and was not informed abt keeping it clean and dry after every wash, so now it smells.

I don' feel like the washer uses enough water; therefore, the clothes that are really dirty don't get clean. I have at least three loads a week of VERY dirty clothes and it takes 2hours and 15min. to do those loads and sometimes they still have stains.

The washer seems to be getting louder during the rinse cycle the longer I use. Heavy items seem to throw it off balance causing the loud vibration. I bought this washer to be able to do large items without issue. Hopefully, the warranty will cover anything that breaks during spin cycle. It also lacks a 'spin' only cycle - only having a rinse/spin option using more energy and taking longer to spin dry a few items.

Love love love this washer!

I was really on the fence about replacing our old school, top loading, agitator style washer with a front loader. I was not convinced they cleaned as well, especially with the low water usage of the HE models. Plus I had heard stories about the awful odors that seemed to be common with front loading machines. We knew our old washer was dying a slow death so I started researching well in advance. After going back and forth, reading all the reviews and talking to an extremely patient salesman at one of the big box stores who answered ALL of my questions I decided on this GE washer. Selling points for me were the outstanding overall reviews, the built in pedestal and the features it offered. One feature I was not willing to compromise on was the steam feature - that was a must have, especially for the dryer. I will admit I was reluctant about having to re-learn how to do laundry, but honestly it was no big deal. I read the book, followed the directions and absolutely love this washer! Yes, the cycles do take a longer, but not too bad. The washer senses the load, and based on the setting you have chosen determines the wash time. It spins out most of the water so even though your wash cycle may take longer, the dry time is faster so you're still coming out ahead. I have yet to encounter any of the 2 hour cycles some people mentioned in their reviews. My loads average an hour to and hour and 15 min. One feature I really love on this washer that I didn't expect to use is the delay wash. I can set it to delay up to 8 hours. If I'm going to be out doing errands I can set the delay so that the load is done when I get home and the clothes aren't sitting in the washer for hours. I have also set it up to wash early in the morning so that when I get up the load is ready to go in the dryer. I have been very careful about not leaving clothes in the washer after the cycle is done, and I always keep the door slightly ajar when not in use (as recommended) to avoid the dreaded front loader odor. So far no problems. It's quieter than our old washer, sings me a little song when it's done and washes the clothes beautifully. I would gladly recommend this washer to anyone. The matching dryer is great, too.

Can't choose rinse water temp. Makes extremely loud sounds while trying to balance. I have never had a front loader that does this, even if the repair man says it is normal. It is not normal.

Great overall washer

Works great and cleans very well. Only annoyance that I found that loading a large number of jeans (> 5 pairs) will have the spin cycle repeat multiple times. Odd this occurs since the jeans easily fit into the washer. Seems that the weight of the jeans disrupt the sensor. Pausing the cycle and shifting around the jeans fixes the problem.
