Worst experience we have had.

We bought this washer and dryer set after we had a house fire in 2016. They look so sharp and we thought GE was a great name. After we got back into our house and started using them, the washer started making a loud squeaking noise. We called GE and had a their only approved service provider come out. They ended up replacing the shocks in April (we started using the washer in March). After this was fixed we had a new issue where it started knocking loudly every time it would spin. We had them come back again and they suggested getting a horse stall mat to place under the unit. We did this and it continued. We called again and they came out and said " This is just what this washer was made to do! There is nothing we can do." This is Crazy!!! It sounds like an earthquake every time we do laundry. And to make things worse come to find out the people that came out cross threaded our washer hose and it as been leaking for over 6 months. Now we have damage to our new house and a washer that knocks every time we use it and has messed up threading on the water hookup. Now we have to buy another washer and it won't be GE.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

VERY disappointed this machine only lasted 4 years

I thought the machine worked great until the spin cycle started getting really loud and then I noticed little plastic shavings in my laundry when the load was complete. They think it’s a bad bearing and the cost to have it repaired is most likely going to be half the price of a new one! These machines should last longer than 4 years. VERY disappointed!

HORRIBLE!!

We have had this washing machine only 3 years and yesterday during the spin cycle it got very loud then all of a sudden it started banging around and apparently the ball bearings got loose and one of them started making dents on the top part of our machine. The only way to get it to turn off was to unplug it. The drum was bouncing around so much it warped the bottom of the machine as well. Very disappointing especially for the price we paid. DO NOT RECCOMMEND!!

This washer lasts 4 years. We have had two of them (2014-2016 and 2016 to 2021). Poor design and quality. Loses balance and can’t handle loads.

Great Machine and Really Lasted

I love GE appliances and this machine was no different. Considering our usage profile it did amazingly well. It actually just failed and we opted to replace it with the latest model. We had it for 8 years but I consider its usage was more like 12 years! For 3 years we did Airbnb which means the machine was being run by us plus 3 other long term guests. After 8 years of this kind of abuse I don’t think it owes us a thing. Which is why we bought the 2024 model to replace it. Sorry to hear others had issues that were disappointing but we did great!
