Many features

When I had to replace my TV I was overwhelmed by all the features and criteria to select from when making a choice. Rather than be confused by a sales person I used the top rated TV in my desired screen size by Consumer Reports. I found it on-line and had it delivered to my door step. The 3d is a fun feature. Voice commands help me find features. But I still have not mastered the purpose of the keyboard on the remote. There are so many features available and I don't like having to study the manual.which I know I will eventually have to do if I am get my monies worth. Picture is great and I was able to get rid of my TV EARS since sound is good even when using my DVD player. I had to call tech support when I thought I needed to connect my TV EARS and response was time was short and tech rep was knowledgeable.
Pros: Performance, Features/Settings

Good TV with a lot of potential

The quality of the display itself is great and you get the added bonus of Google TV which has much potential. Unfortunately, we have to wait until Q3 2013 for an update that will hopefully fulfill this potential.
If you just want a display, I wouldn't recommend this TV as the Smart GoogleTV functionality is very integrated. If you want a Smart TV, I'd still hold off until Q3 when they update it to see if they fix the quirks and fulfill its complete potential. If this update is what is promised, however, this TV will be a VERY good Smart TV.
I will list the quirks I've noticed:
1.) The TV remembers the video and audio settings for each input but there is no way to change these settings without currently using that input and worse the regular Google TV apps use whatever settings the currently selected input (tuner, HDMI, etc) has set.
2.) The SmartShare DLNA media sharing client does not get the aspect ratio right for videos. If all your videos or your DLNA server transcodes video to all match 16:9 then your videos will look right. If not, your videos will stretch to fill the whole screen.
3.) I personally am not the most fond of the LG branded home-screen. I'd much prefer the ability to completely disable this and use only the regular Android home-screen. It would be especially nice if they added regular Android widgets for the live-view and such. In addition, it doesn't seem like I can change the wallpaper of the regular Android home-screen.
4.) When you turn the TV on, it displays the TV tuner (or maybe the input you last selected) until it completely loads and then always shows the LG branded home-screen. It would be nice to have some control over this behavior. The ability to just show a splash screen until the TV is loaded, the ability to load to the regular Android home-screen, or the ability to stay on the TV tuner once loaded until you manually tell it to go to the home-screen, and so on would be really nice.
5.) There's no way to select no input. If you just want to be in the Google TV portion of the TV it would be nice to not have that trying to control audio and video settings and playing audio and video in the background.
There are probably other quirks which I have not noticed yet or forgot to mention, but I'm really only listing these in hopes developers from LG/Google see them and address them.
Like I said at the beginning it's a great quality TV with great features and if this update addresses these issues it will be PERFECT.

Nice all-around SMART TV
on November 18, 2014

Great picture & audio quality.
For those deeply submersed in the GOOGLE/ANDROID ecosystem,I recommend this SMART TV.
While the remote does have a QWERTY keyboard, which can be useful, somehow, someone dropped the ball on a very basic function:
No back button on the remote control (FOR QUICK SWITCHING BETWEEN TWO OR MORE CHANNELS).
This is quite annoying, enough so to drop the feature rating from 5 stars to 3 stars.
If you use a 3rd party remote,it's a mute point, but,I shouldn't have to have a 2nd remote on-hand for this one basic feature.
Otherwise, there is a LOT to like w/this SMART TV.
Basically,if you're at all familiar w/the ANDROID operating system found on smartphones, the learning curve is easy, running on ANDROID 4.2.2
A VERY NICE All-Around Smart TV that I'd recommend to anyone.

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I have had this TV for a few years. I'm very happy with it for the most part. The only thing I wish was that Google TV was still supported. 3D is lack luster

Excellent! This television is awesome!

This LG TV is fantastic! Highly recommended for those looking to venture into the 3D/Smart television field. The 3D feature is excellent but should be used moderately to keep from harming your vision. Other than that issue, there is really nothing wrong with any of the features, which can be synced with any Google based app via smartphone, tablet or computer. The television is also the perfect size for my outdated wall unit.

Great Display, options miss the mark.

The display is vibrant and clear. The built in sound is what you would expect from typical speakers built into a TV.
Where things get dicy. There is no return audio channel support that I can find so the newer LG sound bars or any sound bars are useless for this feature.
There is also no simplelink support at all. LG Claims that Google would not allow them to include it, however they also opted to not support CEC which is defiantly allowed by Google. LG seems to think the addition of IT blaster makes up for this and it does not in any way.
The menu system is atrocious. Navigating it to calibrate the display (which is far from calibrated out of the box) is a nightmare. You do have red and blue filter modes, but you can not leave them on and exit back to a menu to make adjustments. This makes them next to useless.
Once you are able to get the TV set up and calibrated it works great. Built in TV sound is always sub par so I recommend some soft of external speaker system.
The 3D is near flawless but having menus to adjust the left/right channel offsets and depth would have been an enormous improvement. The 3D on this is passive, so it's very similar to what you see in most theaters now days. The benefit of that is no headaches. If you are getting headaches from passive 3D it is because you are straining to see the 3D and you should just sit back and relax like looking at a magic eye picture. The technology it's self has no flicker and will not cause headaches. Don't try to follow 3D objects on the screen just watch the whole screen and enjoy.
With Google TV there are few apps that work compared to an android phone. That's changing but dont buy this TV expecting to install everything you have on your phone as a lot of it just ins't available. More apps are GTV ready every day but it is a small portion compared to an Android phone.
I've mostly focused on my complaints as if I didn't have a complaint then that feature is average or above average. The bigest thing that LG/Google need to fix is the menu system for settings and calibration and the Simplink/CEC. Hopefully both can be corrected in a future update to the firmware.
Pros: Performance, Features/Settings, Quality, 3d, dualplay, cec
