Kind of dissapointed

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was really excited to get this product free from Braun. First I used it wet in the shower and was actually pretty disappointed in its performance. It didn't shave well at all. So, I tried it dry. While it did work better than when it was wet, it still didn't seem to do a very good job. I was trying to shave my neck and I used the long hair trimmed first which, actually did work quite well. Once that was trimmed up I began with the foil razor. It did nothing. After many times of going over it and about choking myself pushing hard on my Adams apple, it still looked the same as before I started. My wife, however, loves it for her legs! I guess it just isn't too good for thick hair.

Close shave

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Braun does a pretty job of giving you a razor close shave without the mess of cream or the expensive cost of razors. I received the Braun series 3 razor for free from Braun to try out. It does however seem to pull more than cut if you have coarse hair that is longer than stubble. The little trimmer attachment is really handy for clean up on tough areas or shaping too. It's gave a good close shave after I used my older trimmer to shorten my facial hair a bit and it seemed to stop pulling and cut well. I was pretty impressed and see no reason I would ever have to buy razors and shaving cream again. Although, I like the fact I can use cream with the razor if I see fit.

Amazing Shaver

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Braun has really done an excellent job with this shaver and I'm pleased to be able to test it out. I have tried it many times now, both dry and with shaving cream. This shaver does great either way! My preference is with shaving cream but as I stated, either way works well. I feel that it is important to note that this is not a safety razor or strait razor. Therefore it shouldn't be compared to them. However, as electric shavers go, this is a very solid product that gets a shave faster and closer than other electric shavers I've tried. I love the easy cleanup and water proof features as well. Thanks for an amazing product Braun!

Amazing product and company

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I received the Braun Series 3-3040 to try for free from Braun and I was very impressed with it from the very beginning. It shaves like a straight razor, I've been using an electric razor (another Braun!) for 15 years and this is the closest shave I've had. I love that it can be used wet or dry and it is so easy to clean as there is no cleaning solution required. Also, it accidentally fell out of the cabinet soon after I received it and it still works great! The only thing I've had to adjust to is due to the double blades it can sometimes be hard to guide the bottom razor, so you kind of have to guess and hope you aren't going into your beard. I'm definitely sold on Braun and will continue to use their products.

Solid Foil Shaver, If a Bit Large

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Before receiving the Braun Series 3-3040 I was using a Panasonic ES-SA40, which in its own right was a solid shaver. The main pros that the Braun shaver have going for it are most notably the power and 3-foil head. This thing will cut through pretty much any hair it can find, and will do so cleanly, leaving a nearly razor-smooth shave. On the downside, though, the Braun shaver's head is about an inch thick, making it a little bulky for trimming any narrow areas, and essentially reduces it to a single-foil shaver. Overall, the Braun Series 3-3040 is a great shaver, and though the power and multi-foil design more than make up for the bulk, it's still a bit on the pricey side.

Better now than my first impression

Braun® Series 3

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] I was both impressed and unimpressed with this razor.
First of all: the razor works while wet!!! That is a total positive. This type of razor tends to burn more so needs the ability to work wet. I have not have a closer shave in my life. Not only was the stubble again, but it felt like it had never existed.
Secondly: The nature of this type of razor is to offer a really close shave, because of this there is a lot of razor burn and ingrown hairs that happen. Two days after using this razor I broke out with a terrible burning in my neck. Maybe I'm not shaving correctly, but it was painful for a couple days.
All in all, I recommend this razor. For the little time in between the smooth face and the in grown hairs, I looked and felt very sharp.
