The remote is very cheap looking and reaction time from remote to T.V. is a little off. HD Channels/Movies look Brilliant. Conventional on the other hand looks like well you get the jest. Also the display at the store had a blue light at the bottom edge of screen. Mine does not, unless it's defective. Built in speakers are decent. I do like the Apps. and the networking capabilities.
Pros: Built-in speakers, Realistic color
Cons: Did not meet expectations, remote

Lot of mpg noise

This tv has the best picture on the market, that is as long as you don't use the tuner. The mpg noise from signal compression is so bad at times it is hard to watch. There is a mpg noise filter in the menu that seems to have no effect. The colors are accurate and bright. The led backlight does a fantastic job. Evenly lit. There is a small light bleed in the corners when on a black screen, but during normal viewing it is not visible. The apps. require a fairly fast connection to work without freezing to buffer. Much slower than my laptop. Without any type of qwerty remote typing anything is painful at best. The menu arrangement is clean and easy to navigate. The remote is back lit, great for home theater. As with all new tv's the tuner is a sore spot,sensitivity has gotten so bad manufactures don't even want to list it anymore. They assume every one has cable or sat. I have been an electronics engineer for the past 30+ years so the wow factor may be gone. As good as this tv really is it is hurt by two factors, the tuner and mpg noise.

Cons: Did not meet expectations, tons of mpg noise

Great TV. But annoying: external speakers are NOT controllable by the remote

I love it wouldn't be there one big annoying issue.
I use external active reference speakers and - surprise - the audio out is NOT controlled by the volume-control on the remote. Even when you switch the audio-setting to external speakers.
So - on every volume-change I have to get up, walk to Speaker one, turn it down/up, speaker two turn it down/up, sit down again.
Folks, that is a design failure that you cannot control the external speakers with the remote. This brings down the value and this is one of a core feature of a TV, changing volume.

Well this was a gift from family at Christmas. I have had a 42" Vizio Plasma which we loved but we have had it since 2004. It was starting to act up. LOL The plasma has a great picture and viewing ratio. It has so many plugs on the back you would be amazed. That was 1 of the things I looked for when I was looking. This 46" Samsung has a great picture and looks nice. But it has nothing compared to the plasma when it comes to plugs on the back. My surround sound doesn't even work on it. I have tried everything. Nice gift but I would not have bought it

Cons: Did not meet expectations, not enough plugs on back for adding other equipmen

We love this TV. Our biggest complaint when we first got it was that the picture was TOO real. We quickly adjusted and never looked back!
