Slim profile and a great picture. The colors are very vivid and set up was a breeze. Replaced a Plasma and what a difference in quality, and if your hanging on the wall you won't get a hernia picking this TV up to hang it. Very easy to use and since we men don't like to read instructions this was ready made for DIY guys. Wife happy with the purchase from the moment she saw the picture quality. Very pleased!
We just bought this TV replacing our Sony Wega. WOW what an upgrade. I wish we had done this sooner. The picture is crystal clear (sharp) I hope it lasts. I would recommend a 55" or bigger !
We were “tube-dwellers” graduating from an old (purchased 2002) 38” CRT HDTV that has been a high quality, robust (250 pound) product we’ve moved 6000+ miles with no repairs. It was time to upgrade to new TV technology that has become far more complex to navigate. We wanted a TV that supported some legacy equipment yet had the latest and greatest in Internet access and applications. We are both technologists, but after six months of near analysis paralysis, Samsung brilliantly solved the problem of the features-for-the-price value equation.
We’ve had this TV (UN46D6000S) for three weeks now and are incredibly impressed with the picture quality, control over the picture settings, integration with our home network (DLNA), and the ease with which we can access Hulu, Netflix, and Pandora (via built-in Ethernet). We also have a large digital media library on a PC running XBMC and this TV makes this look awesome.
One of the best features: due to our widely varied devices we connect (PC, HDMI, Component, and Composite) each input requires picture “tweaking” specific to its needs. This TV does a nice job of enabling best picture control of each and then saving each inputs configuration.
The only downside to having our variety of input sources is our audio connectivity is somewhat convoluted. Not a problem with the TV as much as our equipment. We have a great Pioneer Elite 5.1 DTS/AC3 receiver that we don’t want to upgrade, however, it has no HDMI or Component inputs, so it has become just an audio device (not a switching device)…this is where the TV’s Digital Optical out has been a huge advantage to get 5.1CH audio off cable TV broadcasts.
It should be said though, that the built in speakers sound surprisingly good for such a super-thin TV, when adjusted by the built in graphic EQ and after fiddling with the TruSurround and TruDialog settings.
Lastly, we’ve turned off the Motion Lighting and LED Motion Plus as it hit us with that “soap opera” effect often talked about. With these features on, motion in general-TV watching was found to be somewhat unrealistic. It almost looked like an early CGI movie. We hardly watch sports (mostly HDTV and Movies), so this feature was not important.
Bottom line: This is an incredible value in a LCD-LED TV. Compared to plasma TV’s (which resulted in lesser features/inputs), and straight LCD (just a lesser picture quality), the decision to purchase was easy. There’s a reason the reviews are so good on this TV…it is just AMAZING. Now, the challenge of meeting our expectations for longevity that were set by that old 38” CRT HDTV begins.
Great job Samsung!
Pros: Bright display, Realistic color, value for features, internet access
Cons: no digital audio in/through other than via hdmi, not the best multi-input switch unless all hdmi, some night-time flashlighting in corners
Pro: Picture, Light Weight, Thin, Energy Efficiency Con: Sound, No Built-In Wireless Link, Bad Remote Control (keys too much alike, keys too close together, no alphanumeric keys), Nothing Free & Good in Samsung Apps of SMART TV, Instruction Manual not Clear and Intuitive,
Pros: Bright display, Lightweight, good picture
Cons: poor sound, bad remote control, no built-in wireless link, poor instruction manual, insufficient sound/pic settings
I would recommend this to a friend!

I had a five-year old 42 inch Vizio and wanted to get a little bigger screen size and better image. I passed the Vizio along to my sister, who needed a new TV. I didn't care about connectivity features as I already am set up with WiFi through the Xbox and PS3. I also don't care about 3D--it sdoes nothing for me. I was looking only at picture quality when I shopped.
I did a lot of window shopping and research on the net. I didn't want to just jump into a purchase on impulse. It was hard to decide but the Samsung won out because I just liked the quality of the image and the TV is also is pretty thin and looks nice. It looks classy. That's not a whole big deal for me and I certainly wouldn't buy a TV just on looks but its a nice additional touch.
My Vizio was kind of bulky and heavy. This TV is very thin and very light. It also has pretty straightforward controls. IMage quality is great. Very good contrast and nice, ntural colors. I also like the glossy screen. I have had no issues with reflections or glare, even in bright lighting.
As far as sound, I have no idea as I have a Reciever and component speaker system. I actually have never even listened to the sound from the TV. I hooked it up to the reciever from Day 1.
The only negative I can think of so far--Samsung is a bit pricey compared to the competition. It's not insanely more expensive but it definately won't be on the top of the list if you are a budget shopper.
Fantastic picture compared to another brand i own and in the store I purchased this from which has literally hundreds of sets. This would be a 5 star rating BUT I have replaced this TV 2 times and still get the picture to like "judder"/shift no matter what setting is used when viewing from cable box live or recorded. Tried two other cable boxes and one other TV on the same movie...and it’s this TV. Most disappointing. This occurs even on "low action" scenes such as office discussions, romantic comedies or face to face discussion. Sports or action scenes are almost painful to watch the scene jumps so much. Using a dual band router could never get the TV to use N, router always grabs the G in either band, which made getting highest downloads not possible. Remote and use of remote is good. Sound quality is good and has a vol. great range from low to high. Set up was straight forward but instructions are a bit thin, great set up options etc. After a weekend of “observing” the TV it has a great, if not one of the best pictures when it is not jumping. but holding off recommending it to others and indeed even keeping due to the Judder (This IS a 120Hz TV!) It is easy to use, even the internet part, and so far no issues with the LED technology others have ran into.
