Great camera!

Camera has many great features. I have had this camera for about 2 years and it's the best camera I've ever owned.
One con is that the firmware has not been in a few years. Since the latest firmware has not been up to date, the newer stuff Canon produces (such as the Speedlite 270ex) is not always 100% compatible.
Pros: excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Quick Start-up time, Lightweight/Portable
Cons: Missing features/settings

Bought last Summer, the XTi allows a creativity absent in point and shoot cameras. The choice of preset modes for portrait, sports, etc, Manual control of Aperture, Shutter speed, ISO choices, white balance, etc. provides choices to create wonderful images.
Having used a Canon Elph 550, 7.1 mp camera that produced published photos for me, I was extremely please with the quality of enlargement capability of the 10mp images with the XTi some of which have been recently submitted for local publication. I compared the handling of the XTi with a comparable Nikon and found the shutter and other controls fit my hand perfectly and the weight is light enough to lesson fatigue due to long use.
Pros: Superior build quality, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Nice features/settings, quiet, Quick Start-up time, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life

Great DSLR Camera

Excellent DSLR camera for learning how to get started in digital photography. I have found this camera easy to use and the picture quality has been extremely good. The only time the photos did not come out properly can be attributed to operator error. I owned a Nikon prior to purchasing this camera and I must admit that I will only go with Canon from now on. I found this camera to be much more user-friendly and easier to learn than it's competitor. I thought I would never switch brands, but at the urging of some friends of mine, They convinced me to go with the Canon product and I can honestly say it was one of the best decisions I have made. If you are considering purchasing a digital camera, Canon is the best path to go down!!
Pros: good battery life, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, Superior build quality, Bright LCD, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, easy to use

Great value and versatility. Wide range of available accessories easily obtained. Great addition to my gallery/framing/photography business. It is my camera of choice for portraits, field work and commisioned projects. It has replaced my point-and-shoots and other more expensive equipment where environment could be an issue. I take/save every shot in RAW and have successfully printed up to 48" without any pixalation. Great clarity and options in this price range. If I drop or damage this model, I'd buy another immediately, without hesitation. Can't say enough.
Pros: excellent image quality, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Solid Operation, easy to use, good battery life

I purchased the Rebel Xti a little over a year ago, and have been quite satisfied with it up to this point. It captures images of excellent quality, and once a person learns the controls, is fairly easy to operate.
The kit that I purchased came with the 18-55mm lens and a 75-300mm lens. Neither of these are high end lenses, but I have taken some beautiful shots with both of them.
This is my first dSLR, so I can't compare it to more expensive systems. But for my purposes as an "advanced amateur" photographer, the Xti has met my expectations.
This is a great little camera.
Pros: Superior build quality, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life

My husband bought me the Rebel XTI several Cristmases ago in an effort to encourage me to get out and do more with my most beloved hobby, and at first glance, it did seem a bit complicated, but once I sat a read the manual that came with it, I was very comfortable with it. My 10 year old daughter also had a great love of photography, and found it easy enough to use (with close supervision) that even she made some pretty remarkable images! I have literally produced tens of thousands of photographs with this camera, and I'm just as happy with the quality as I was when I first got it. I am a photography major at the Art Institute, and will be upgrading to the 5D in a few months, and am looking forward to a long, profitable relationship with another outstanding Canon product.!!!
Pros: Superior build quality, excellent image quality, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, Quick Start-up time, easy to use, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life

What I would do differently!

The very good quality is obvious and mentioned elsewhere. Had I known the improved XSi was coming, I would have waited. This is my third Canon after a Canon FTB and a Canon T70. I also wish you could save an enlarged view as a new file. I normally shoot in "P" and never in the icons below the green rectangle. I find myself pressing the * button as it is too close to the thumb rest firing the flash inadvertedly. A wider range lens favoring wide angle would be appreciated as a kit lens and at a "reasonable" price. I never print directly from the camera.
Pros: Superior build quality, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Nice features/settings, quiet, Quick Start-up time, Solid Operation, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, some controls are simple, excellent bracketing flexibility
Cons: Missing features/settings, the rebel logo should go., left arrow is clumsy
