Great starter SLR

Great SLR for next step up from point-n-shoot. Upgraded from a Pro1. Pictures are crisp, but contrast is a little low and exposure always seems dark and needs to be compensated for. Have always had Canon cameras and never disappointed. Toughest part is deciding on a good pair of lenses.
Pros: Superior build quality, Nice features/settings, Solid Operation, good battery life
Cons: Heavy/Bulky

great SLR

I have used my XTi for over a year and have been extremely pleased with it. The 10 megapixel capability is more than adequate for my needs. In addition to the kit lens I have acquired a 28 t0 135 mm IS lens and a 55 to 250 mm IS lens making this an extremely versatile system. Once I get a macro lens such as the 100 mm I will have a system that does everything I need. I use either the built in flash or a 430 flash, depending upon my shooting situation. The only downside is the lack of ability to preview a scene on the LCD. I would not part with this system.
Pros: Superior build quality, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, Nice features/settings, quiet, Quick Start-up time, Solid Operation, easy to use, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life

Great SLR

I purchased an XTi two years ago, prior to a vacation in China. The camera was all that I expected it to be. It is extremely versitile, allowing for a huge range of lighting conditions. I was very impressed by the focusing system. The ability to instantly review the picture just taken, then change the ISO's picture by picture, is a feature I did not fully appreciate prior to my purchase. I now use it constantly, and could not live without.
A great camera at a very good price.
Pros: Superior build quality, excellent image quality, Bright LCD, quiet, Quick Start-up time, Solid Operation, easy to use, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life
Cons: Complicated controls/menu

Me, My XTi, & our Rebel Ways

This was is My first digital SLR and I've had it almos a year now. The quality of this camera is more than anyone can ever expect especially for the amatuer comsumer. It's small, light, and not only user friendly with it's presets and functions, but it's design makes anyone who shoots with it feel like a small town PRO. This camera turns heads! After learning and growing so much with this camera I think I will always have an XTi on hand especially as a back up. It's even taken a few beatings. I took it on mountain biking trip and ended up face planting with it loose in a back pack, I dropped it in a bowling alley and it actually SKIPPED across the floor ( I thought it was the end) but despite those and a couple more its FINE. I've brought it on numerous adventures with me and it's survived better than I have through some of them. The XTi truly is a REBEL for a rebel. Looks can be decieving and this camera shows you that size doesn't matter. It's The most Humble camera out on the market.
Pros: Superior build quality, excellent image quality, Simple controls/menu, easy to use, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life
Cons: Dim LCD, noisy, does not have image stabalization in the body, should be better resistance to water

Reliable DSLR at an affordable price

I bought this camera to originally be a backup to my Canon EOS 1D mark 1. But after using this for about a month straight. It has been my primary camera because the image quality is outstanding and it is so small it works perfectly for photojournalistic work. Especially being a college student I always have my camera with me everyday. This is one camera that won't let you down. Sharp crisp photos everytime!
I love this camera so much and I am really glad it's affordable because people like me (college students/photo majors) can afford it easily! :)
My ONLY grudge against it would be that it is a bit small for my hands but then again that's a plus because by being small its perfect for carrying around with you in your everyday life. I think I would only upgrade if it was to the 5dmk2 or 1Dmk3 :P
Thanks Canon <3
Pros: excellent image quality, Bright LCD, Simple controls/menu, quiet, Quick Start-up time, Solid Operation, easy to use, Lightweight/Portable, good battery life, cheap, reliable
Cons: small for people with big hands
