Freezer ice maker valve struck open - kitchen ruin

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We have been in our brand new home for two years and purchased this intentionally because we heard good reviews. We have had to replace the ice maker valve and various other parts (under warranty the first year, extended warranty this year) . Woke up at 3am to an alarm in freezer...the ice maker valve had critical failure and leaked gallons and gallons of water into the freezer (which brought temperature down so alarm was triggered...but too late), which then pushed out onto our hardwood floors. It is terrible - entire kitchen floor has to be pulled, replaced, cabinets have to be pulled (on bottom), drywall was damaged - it is a nightmare 1) to have this happen, 2) to have it happen right outside of the manufacturer warranty and 3) to deal with this in our brand new home. So disappointed in this product.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Freezer dead on arrival

Just received the fridge freezer combination yesterday. Nice looking units however that does not matter if they do not work on arrival. The fridge is working but the freezer heats up inside rather than cools. Now chasing what will be done. Does not feel right to pay this kind of money only to have a unit needing repair right out of the box.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Noisy fan—disappointed in purchase

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] This freezer is horribly noisy. We have had this model before, without the noise made by the fan. In our current freezer, the droning is relentless. We have had several service calls and one attempt to dampen the noise by adding a set of dampening pads (which, sadly, didn’t work as well as we hoped). Our first experience of ownership was great and I hate that a purchase of the same item 3 years later seems to show a cheaper quality of factory parts and little by way of help from the manufacturer.

Love it

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] We’ve been using this freezer for about 2 months and really love it. It holds tons of food and nothing gets lost in the back since it’s counter depth. The only improvement I can think of is regarding the ice maker. It’s located on the top shelf and it makes it difficult to access for shorter people or just for a quick water bottle refill.

It freezes

[This review was collected as part of a promotion.] Hello, I bought the set, fridge and freezer with our kitchen remodel. By the time they were installed we were 6 months into our 12 month warranty. Having now used them for 2 months we are finding more reasons why we should have purchased the higher end models. First, this freezer does not have a filter for the ice cubes that it makes. To install a filter, one must install a filter in the water line (to access from back of unit, or under the floor, or through a wall, or install a whole water supply filter). This is a huge bummer. Also, the ice cubes that are made tend to melt and create an ice block due to the freezer's no frost feature. A technician recommended the freezer be set at -1degree, but that still hasn't fixed the issue.
