Died in less than 3 years!

We got this microwave 3 years back. After 2 years, most of the controls on the panel stopped working except 2-3 buttons (cancel, +30sec and 1 min). Then the display stopped working and not showing the time correctly. Around the 3 year mark, the turntable started rotating whenever we open the door but it was still heating until 2 weeks back. Now it turns on (i can hear the fan) but the turntable doesn''t rotate and it doesn't heat at all. For the amount of money we paid, we thought it would last long.
It's probably not worth looking into getting it repaired and I will probably buy a new one (not GE!).

I was nervous about buying a convection oven because I had never used one. It could not have been easier to use the convection oven or the microwave oven. I hardly ever use my large oven. This GE Profile series Microwave and Convection have spoiled me. As a single mom always on the run this makes life easier.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Enjoying the microwave/ convection oven

When we upgraded our kitchen, we opted for new built in appliances. The dealer suggested we try convection cooking, something new to us. We opted to go with the combination microwave/ convection oven. Overall we have been pleased, as it has all of the features we could have asked for. Perhaps the one thing I would change is having a number pad instead of the turn dial for the timer/ temperature setting, but other than that we have been happy with the produce.

Love micro-convection cooking

I bought this to replace a 10 year old version of this micro-convection oven. I loved the old one so much I didn't even bother looking at competitors.
A little different operation than the old one - but minor. Powerful microwave. Fast heating convection. Use them separately or together.
This is a MUCH cheaper option than adding a double-oven to my kitchen and it's more versatile.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Microwave door locks up after using convection oven on bake.
Mastering the control panel requires constant reference to the owner's guide. The controls are not self-evident.
The unit does heat well though accumulation of steam inside the oven, and sometimes outside through the oven trim kit vent, seems excessive in comparison to other microwaves we have owned.

Nice Product

Bought this in conjunction with a full kitchen renovation. We installed it in the island and it looks great. Note - you do not need to purchase the bezel in order to do this. The bezel is really just to get the width of the microwave to match an adjacent appliance. For example if you install this above a wall oven, you'll want the bezel so the two appliances line up correctly, otherwise, you can save yourself a few bucks. The microwave functions well, we've had no issues with operation. I'm not in love with the knob vs. a full keypad, but it's no show stopper. When setting the cook time or timer, note that the machine only moves in 15-second increments, so you can't cook something for 17 seconds, or 25 seconds, you'll have to round up and keep an eye on it. We are satisfied with the cavity size. We used the convection feature to roast some cauliflower and were pleased with the results. The cauliflower was nicely browned. We've only had the unit for a few months so can't speak to longevity. Also, we really only use it for reheating food and cooking rice, so we aren't super-users and can't speak to performance under heavy use. We like what we've seen so far and the price point was acceptable for us.

I bought this item 2 days ago. The manual for the operation of the microwave is poorly detailed and is complicated. I am now sorry I purchased the microwave. Had I not used it I would return it.
