So Pleased with my Profile Microwave-Convection
on August 3, 2016

I had a GE Monogram microwave-convection oven for 25 years and replaced it when my original Monogram wall oven needed replacement. I've waited several months to get to know the appliance before I posted a review. Overall I'm very pleased with this appliance. Both the microwave and convection functions are powerful. The touchpad is intuitive and well laid out, with good placement of the start and off/clear buttons. It has great functionality, cooks and bakes like a dream, and looks beautiful. It took 15 years off the appearance of my kitchen!
There are a couple things I wish GE had done differently - I hope GE designers consult professional home economists, not just engineers. Most of us don't need an AM/PM display to tell us whether it's morning or evening. I'd rather have larger print on the digital display so I can see it from further away. I personally find the 15-second timer increments inconvenient - I want to be able to key in microwave times like 20 or 40 seconds but can't. This oven is so powerful that sometimes 30 seconds is just too long.
I looked at online reviews before I selected this appliance and some people commented the programming sequence was complicated; others thought the oven was loud. There is one additional step in the oven start sequence - 4 steps instead of 3 - but I was comfortable with it by day 3. When working, the appliance is audible but for me, that's not a problem. I could always hear my Monogram microwave-convection and after awhile, you just tune it out. Bottom line - I'd recommend this appliance to anyone.

Worst microwave ever

Our home and all appliances are a little more than 2 years old. Our microwave started malfunctioning a year ago (just after the warranty ran out of course). The lights on the clock/panel only partially work and half the buttons don't work anymore. Several of our neighbors have had their identical microwave completely die after the 1-year warranty ran out or have had similar or worse issues to ours. I have owned GE appliances in the past and they have been fine but it seems our neighborhood received a bad lot of microwaves (and refrigerators). Very disappointed.

I have owned 3 of these in 6 years. Only kept buying the same model because the dimensions fit into a wall kit. NO MORE! Tired of replacing microwaves!

Seemed to be a lemon from the start

Purchased this microwave in November 2017 and had it installed May 2018 after our kitchen remodel was completed.
At first all was fine, but then we started having trouble with the door. Had a service tech out who made some adjustments and we were fine for a couple weeks. Service tech came back out and filed a report for a replacement under warranty. New unit was installed January 2019 and worked fine until June 2022 when it stopped heating.
Due to our experience with this product, we chose to replace it with a different unit.

Hey there – thanks for taking the time to write a review on your microwave. Our apologies to learn of your issues with this unit, as that is not the ownership experience that we strive for. It’s understandable how disappointing it is when an appliance doesn’t live up to expectations.
We’re glad to see that you were able to take advantage of your warranty to get a replacement unit. We will surely share your feedback with our engineering team, and we hope to be able to earn back your trust in our brand in the future. Expected to have more interior space. Can't hold a 13"×9" cake pan. Cuts down on what you can ba k e in it. Does an okay job on baking. Microwave works well, just slightly disappointed with the convection side...which is why I bought it.

Just replaced my old GE microwave with this and wish I had paid a little more attention to the details. No reheat option, Beverage option does not use sensor, and can't seem to defrost by time. Most programmed option require lots of "button pushing". Not a lot of options for sensory cooking, which I really wanted.
On a positive not, I tried the Conv/Roast option and was pleasantly surprised with the results. Since I'm unfamiliar with this micro/convection combo cooking, I had to check the meat constantly. Wish they had added a probe or sensory cooking for this.

Different but good

I replaced my 5 year old GE convection microwave with this one. The other died and repairs were too expensive to make it worth fixing. Picked this in spite of the disappointment with the length of time we had the other one because it has the features I have gotten used to. We use the microwave daily and I use the convection feature as a second oven and when cooking or baking smaller quantities. I wouldn't be without a combination oven and GE is still rated the best of those available. I miss one or two of the features that were on the other one, particularly the timed defrost cycle.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Love Hate relationship

Loved my last GE Profile micro/conv. oven. We moved so I bought another. I can't use a 13x9 inch pan to bake in or a pan big enough to broil bacon with out folding it . The reason being is because you can't turn the turntable off on this model and you can't take out the turntable because the round baking/ broiling racks will not sit level. The inside measurements are deceiving as you can't fit anything but a small round casserole dish or 8x9 pan. I specifically loved using the older model as a smaller or extra oven and this is not the case with this one. For the cost this is very, very, very disappointing GE.
