Broken control panel

Control panel broke in 3 years. I have a microwave with a digital control panel and a woodgrain finish that still works flawlessly.

While we understand the importance of an appliance and its parts lasting for an extended amount of time. However, it is not possible to determine the product or part failure rate, lifespan, life expectancy, or life cycle of an appliance. There are multiple variables involved such as frequency of use, type of use, location of appliance, care, and maintenance.

Disappointing

We purchased our microwave 3 years ago and about a month ago the control panel began to lose its display. Then the upper controls—add 30 seconds, convection, etc. —stopped working. We use it often and keep it clean. With the trim kit, it is a costly outlay and we would have expected longer use for a GE Profile product. I would not recommend this produce. Quite disappointing.

We want to help out with your microwave display not working properly. We suggest trying a quick electronic reset. Which can be done by removing the power cord for 2-3 minutes, then plugging it back in. In the meantime one of our agents get in touch over email. Please respond at your earliest convenience.

Useless after 4 years

Have had since Spring 2020. Numbers don’t display properly and most buttons including the start button don’t work any longer. Sad.

NOT GE Profile Quality

We purchased this microwave 18 months ago to match our other Profile appliances. We should have paid better attention to all the poor reviews other consumers gave this product. We only use this microwave occasionally but the keyboard is now not working. And, to top it off, the keyboard is out of stock and is not currently available to make a repair. Avoid this expensive microwave.

Badly failing units

We have two units in an office setting. Fully used for two years with a three-day week usage. One stopped working last week and the other is slowly dying with the keypad not functioning and the heating features barely working. For the price of each unit, the lifespan is very short. I’m disappointed with the brand.

Do not buy this microwave!

Like so many others in the reviews, our 3 year old microwave’s display is not working properly. The digital numbers are starting to disappear. Very disappointed! GE should be recalling all of these defective microwaves! We have been loyal GE customers for 39 years but we will be looking at other brands in the future.

Good but not lasting long

It looks good, nice size. But it stopped responding on touch screen to all but the left column, ie, 1,4,7 work but not any of the other numbers or the start/pause. It’s 5 yrs old so that’s not great. That’s why the 3 star review.
