This is my 2nd one - poor longevity on the 1st one

I installed the 1st PEB9159DJWW, including the accompanying 30" trim kit, in Dec. 2017. I had several problems with it in the first 4 years (bad door switch, which I replaced myself, loose gasket in the glass door, and most recently the control board is starting to go out (one LED segment out, "start" button stopped working and then worked again). Instead of buying a new control board (a widely noted problem with this model) I opted for a new one PLUS an extended warranty. I didn't want to try to find another brand and its trim kit that would fit my existing cabinet opening - but if this one has multiple problems, that's what I'll do when the extended warranty expires. The convection oven is a nice feature, but we have found the temperature to vary up and down so much during cooking that we only use it for reheating.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

We’ve had it just over 4 yrs, and now it’s toast. Pretty sure it’s the circuit board that’s bad, because both the convection feature and the microwave have quit working. Up to now, we have enjoyed this duo oven/microwave a lot, and would give it five stars. But these things ought to last twice this long, and fixing it will cost almost as much as a new one. Very disappointed, so there’s the reason for the lower rating.

This is my second GE Profile microwave. The first one I bought in 2007 and loved it. It had great features and seemed to excel at the things I wanted to use it for. I moved, and got a new one for the new space. This one doesn't have the features and the convection oven doesn't cook well.

Had glitches here and there....

Certain features did not work every now and then here and there, I've had it for less than a year and now it does not heat up our food. It turned on the light is on it sounds like it's working but the turntable doesn't turn and it does not heat food at all. Very disappointing.

LED display burning out - TWO years old! :(

We had a home built a couple years ago and they installed this microwave. Now the bottom right LED bar thing is burned out so it’s hard to tell what the last number is. We are outside the 1 year builder warranty so I guess we’ll have to pay $180 for a new display. Totally unacceptable. This is my first GE Profile microwave and I can tell you it is DEFINITELY going to be my last. Very disappointed.

Already sounds like an old Buick

We purchased this unit less than a month ago and it already has started to fail. The fan is hit or miss starting up and sounds like a clunker when it gets started up.

Noisy and at 18 months no longer works

Moved into our new home in 2016. It had all GE Profile appliances. We enjoyed the convection setting on our microwave. It lasted about 4 1/2 years. We replaced it with the predecessor of this model. From the start, the fan in the microwave vibrates more than our old one. We are now at the 18-month mark with this one, and it no longer heats and the turntable does not turn.
