They don't make em like they use to..

So after 7 years of loving our GE microwave with a "reheat" feature we loved, the turntable motor and other issues gave out. I called GE to order the same and was told they do not make our model anymore. GE gave me the replacement model. The replacement for our in wall microwave should not be considered a replacement. Its totally different in features and most important size. Even after purchasing the expensive PLASTIC trim kit, it still did not fit our cabinet cutout. I believe another reviewer on this site posted a picture of the same issue. Believe you me we shopped around before making do with this overpriced cheaply made product. My husband had to do some cabinet makeover work in order for it to fit because believe you me the process to return items is so not worth it. The microwave feels cheep when pressing buttons and closing the door. I sure miss the reheat button. I do not recommend the product if you are replacing a INWALL unit as it will not fit. If you are sitting it on the counter....well it heats food. And because it does Heat food I am clicking the yes for recommend.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great while it worked...but panel stopped working

The microwave looks great and performed fine, but suddenly a couple of buttons (set clock, Cancel/Off) stopped working 14 months after initial purchae.

A nice unit with great functions, BUT…

Longevity was quite poor. The microwaves controll panel/circuit board only lasted 2 to 3 years. The more commonly used controll keys stopped working and the clock lost a number of its display LED’s. The estimate to repair the unit was not much less than a new unit so it was replaced. We stayed with the same unit only because of the cubby hole it lives in has specific dimensions with the trim kit so we were kind of stuck. Not very happy, at least the process to get a new one was easy.

Didn't work long

Bought this unit less than 2 years ago. Started having problems less than a month after the warranty expired. First a segment of the display, then a button, then another button. Sometimes a button might start working again. Then more display digits failed. Now the turntable won't stop turning. To expensive for the value received. Time to replace, but not likely with another GE. Also will have to replace the trim unit as it likely won't work with another brand. Customer care also not helpful.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Overpriced!

Recently purchased this from a local small business. We were "helping the guy out" so didn't ask the price. That was a mistake. We were purchasing a convection microwave, so act as a second oven. We have had a convection microwave of another brand in the past, and we enjoyed that we could make two pizzas at one time, but you cannot do that in this one. Also, the baking function seems to bake hotter on the outside perimeter, so you end up with pizza or whatever that is overdone on the edges but not quite done in the middle. The microwave function is fine. But if that's all that I wanted, I would have paid much less for a basic microwave. Also, the stainless exterior is impossible to keep fingerprint free.

Not as expected

The letters on this microwave are very tiny and too light to read. It is a built-in above the stove. To read the words I have to stand on a step stool to see them. It is definitely not an improvement on the previous model.
It does, however, heat the food adequately.

Convection Fan rattles and is so noisy overal
