Display/Control Issues

We purchased all GE appliances when we built our house in 2019. We are very please with the form and function of the washer, dryer, refrigerator, range, and wall oven. However, this microwave either has a poor quality control panel, or ours is defective. After less than 2 years the LED display has lights out and the start/pause button no longer works. Not having a working start button makes it impossible to use most of the cooking functions. The one year warranty has lapsed, but I see others have had this same issue with this model. I'm hoping GE will extend the warranty on this item knowing that it has issues. I see it is currently out of stock at the GE parts website. Maybe this is due to so many replacements being needed? The "average" rating is due to the part failure. Everything else about the product is great.

Didn't even work

Brand new. Powered up. Didn't work. Waiting on warranty service. But it's been three weeks with no microwave.

Horrible - stops working

Similar to many many other reviews, the keypad on our microwave stopped working after less than 2 years of use. Given the price paid on this appliance, this is unacceptable. Microwave is now unusable as we cannot use the number pad.

Lasts only 2 years?

The moment I saw this product, I knew I was in for a love/hate relationship. Yes, the unit is beautiful and fits nicely in its space. However, a few days ago, the digital display lost a pixel or something and cannot properly display cook or general clock time. Then, the microwave stopped working - the keypad doesn't seem to be functional and even if you can get it to "work," the turntable does not spin and it no longer heats food!! I've scheduled a technician to come take a look - the service visit alone is extremely expensive and doesn't include any labor or parts. I want to like this unit - I really do. It just seems like the quality control was missing here. For now, I am using a 15 year old microwave we've had in storage from college in order to get by. Shameful.

They don't make em like they use to..

So after 7 years of loving our GE microwave with a "reheat" feature we loved, the turntable motor and other issues gave out. I called GE to order the same and was told they do not make our model anymore. GE gave me the replacement model. The replacement for our in wall microwave should not be considered a replacement. Its totally different in features and most important size. Even after purchasing the expensive PLASTIC trim kit, it still did not fit our cabinet cutout. I believe another reviewer on this site posted a picture of the same issue. Believe you me we shopped around before making do with this overpriced cheaply made product. My husband had to do some cabinet makeover work in order for it to fit because believe you me the process to return items is so not worth it. The microwave feels cheep when pressing buttons and closing the door. I sure miss the reheat button. I do not recommend the product if you are replacing a INWALL unit as it will not fit. If you are sitting it on the counter....well it heats food. And because it does Heat food I am clicking the yes for recommend.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Great while it worked...but panel stopped working

The microwave looks great and performed fine, but suddenly a couple of buttons (set clock, Cancel/Off) stopped working 14 months after initial purchae.
