I'd Love to Give This Microwave Back!

Bought this microwave because it was supposed to be exact replacement for prior GE Profile microwave/convection. It isn't. Much smaller AND within 2-3 weeks of installation a thermal switch shorted out and had to be replace. Plus, the convection part of the oven does not reach temperatures it is supposed to or which it says it does.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

GE Profile 1.5 Problems in less than 3 Yrs!!!

GE Profile PEB9158SJSS was installed in our new townhouse Oct 2018
In the past few months part of the last digit for time is not working and today, 6/24/21
the keypad doesn't work for setting 1,2,3,4,5,6 minutes. You have to press additional
30 seconds. Previously I had two GE Profile that were larger and worked for years
My GE Profile Dishwasher is awesome
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

If the microwave key panel is not responding or working properly, check the following:


Make sure that the microwave is plugged into a grounded outlet. It must be a 3-prong outlet.
Make sure the clock is set.
Check to see if a programming sequence was entered. Sometimes improper programming or a program sequence such as delay start can cause the touch panel to be non-responsive. Unplug microwave or turn off house circuit breaker for 30 seconds. Plug back in, or reset circuit breaker, and try reprogramming unit.
Check the house circuit breaker. If the microwave is DEAD and there is no display and nothing works- the problem could be a blown fuse or tripped breaker.

If you have determined that none of these tips will resolve your issue, then you may need to consider scheduling service. You can schedule an appointment by calling 1-800-432-2737 or schedule online at https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm .

THIS PRODUCT WORKED WELL WHEN IT WAS WORKING...THE UNIT FAILED AFTER TWO YEARS OF USE... WE REPLACED IT WITH THE SAME UNIT BECAUSE OF CUSTOM INSTALLATION...ATTEMPTED TO HAVE IT REPAIRED BUT COST OF REPAIR WAS CLOSY TO REPLACEMENT COST...DISAPPOINTED

Stopped working after 1yr 4 mo :(

Product lasted 1 year and 4 months before it stopped working. This is our 3rd of this convection oven in 7 years. Will not buy this again. Hoping the problem is with the convection aspect. Just bought a regular microwave. Will see how it goes.

Unreliable Product - Disgusted

I’ve had this about 3.5 years. It stopped working 15 months after I bought it, right before a family Thanksgiving, and I had to fight to get the service call refunded - 3 months out of warranty! About 9 months ago the LED clock cells started gradually disappearing, and then a week ago the power level function stopped functioning intermittently. I plan to get non GE
microwave soon as I’m pretty sure this one will die completely soon. Not sure I’ll ever buy another GE product.

All GE Profile Appliances Dead After 2 Years

The microwave just stopped function and is completely dead after 2 years. The main board is defective and needs to be replaced. Not only that, all of my GE Profile appliances that I purchased including a double oven slide in range and a dishwasher at the same time just over two years ago have problems. My range is currently out of service and has been out of service for over 2 months (since May 6 2021). The dishwasher drain pump stopped functioning two weeks ago and I had to replace that. Its one thing after another with these appliances. They should last longer than two years. Fortunately, I had an extended warranty on the range but not on the other appliances. Even with the extended warranty, it's a major inconvenience not having a range for over two months. I currently have no cooking appliances in the house that work.

Bought this expensive microwave, along with trim kit to install in cabinet. All good until installed and plugged in. Zero .. nothing .. zip .. no power ! Over a week later , service guy comes. Doesn’t even know how ( or can’t ) remove back to service. Left a week ago .. no word .. no follow up .. dead expensive kitchen cabinet ornament .
