Display Defective

After less than 2 years of use, one of the bars of the "numbers" display part of the on the control panel has gone "dim." It appears the entire motherboard might need to be replaced which would entail extensive effort and parts/labor cost.

If you notice a diming, we first recommend disconnecting power to the unit for 2-3 minutes to reset the controls. Failed - Same problem other reviews note

4 years about to the day and our microwave suffered what looks to be a common set of symptoms leading to demise. First the turntable would spin any time you opened the door. Now the turntable does not spin and the microwave will not heat/function. Very disappointed for a Profile level appliance.

Display and Buttons not working

We moved into a brand new house in Juky 2018. All appliances were brand new. Our GE Profile Microwave has already in less than 3 yrs had the display out and some buttons not working when pushed. See photo

Huge Flaw

I'd Love to Give This Microwave Back!

Bought this microwave because it was supposed to be exact replacement for prior GE Profile microwave/convection. It isn't. Much smaller AND within 2-3 weeks of installation a thermal switch shorted out and had to be replace. Plus, the convection part of the oven does not reach temperatures it is supposed to or which it says it does.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

GE Profile 1.5 Problems in less than 3 Yrs!!!

GE Profile PEB9158SJSS was installed in our new townhouse Oct 2018
In the past few months part of the last digit for time is not working and today, 6/24/21
the keypad doesn't work for setting 1,2,3,4,5,6 minutes. You have to press additional
30 seconds. Previously I had two GE Profile that were larger and worked for years
My GE Profile Dishwasher is awesome

Thank you for sharing your experience with us. We're truly sorry to hear that the keypad is not working on your microwave. We certainly understand how frustrating that is!

If the microwave key panel is not responding or working properly, check the following:


Make sure that the microwave is plugged into a grounded outlet. It must be a 3-prong outlet.
Make sure the clock is set.
Check to see if a programming sequence was entered. Sometimes improper programming or a program sequence such as delay start can cause the touch panel to be non-responsive. Unplug microwave or turn off house circuit breaker for 30 seconds. Plug back in, or reset circuit breaker, and try reprogramming unit.
Check the house circuit breaker. If the microwave is DEAD and there is no display and nothing works- the problem could be a blown fuse or tripped breaker.

If you have determined that none of these tips will resolve your issue, then you may need to consider scheduling service. You can schedule an appointment by calling 1-800-432-2737 or schedule online at https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm .

THIS PRODUCT WORKED WELL WHEN IT WAS WORKING...THE UNIT FAILED AFTER TWO YEARS OF USE... WE REPLACED IT WITH THE SAME UNIT BECAUSE OF CUSTOM INSTALLATION...ATTEMPTED TO HAVE IT REPAIRED BUT COST OF REPAIR WAS CLOSY TO REPLACEMENT COST...DISAPPOINTED
