Died after one year

It started with the turning wheel start turning when you open the door. 2 months later it no longer heats up. I was skeptical to purchase this unit, I should of trusted my instincts..

Short life

Microwave turntable stopped and will not heat after only 2 years. Expensive unit to have to replace in that short of time.

Impossible to get fixed

The spring on my microwave door broke. I am unable to get parts to fix this microwave. I have been trying for one month to have a technician come out with the parts required to complete this job. I need this microwave fixed to sell the house. It’s very frustrating to work with GE

Poor Quality - expected better

I never leave reviews (believe me to take the time to write this speaks for volumes). I bought this microwave with a full kitchen package and washer/dryer set about 2 years ago. The function buttons from day one were somewhat difficult to get to work and for a few months now, some have stopped working completely. The digital display is also illegible as only portions of the screen illuminate. Very disappointing to say the least. Expect much better quality from a GE!

This is the second model I've purchased. The first one only worked for 2.5 years before some of the functions on the control panel stopped functioning.

Purchased this model in mid-2018. In Dec 2020, either touchpad membrane or circuitboard partially failed (more than half of keypad functions became inoperative). Replacement parts were out of stock through GE Appliance Parts.
Replaced appliance with same model.
Good rating until failure.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Broken in less than 2 year

Bought this unit to replace another GE Profile black microwave that served us for over 15 years, which worked fine but the door latch failed to open at the end of its life. From the beginning of the new PEB9159DJBB, the feel of the microwave didn't impress us. It didn't feel like an upgrade but rather back to the 90s look, with rather large silver logo in the middle and the display seemed outdated.
However, most importantly, the microwave worked fine, for 23 months. Just a couple of weeks ago, noticed the turntable not stopping after the warming cycle is done, it occasionally stopped itself but back to moving turntable again. Then last week, the turntable stopped but also the heating stopped. Had spent a lot of money including the trim kit to fit the cabinet only to have it broken in less than 2 years.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.
