Good and bad

Bought new about 6 months ago. The door is mounted crooked and runs at the bottom. I had to insert a plastic gromet in it to make it realign. Very annoying. Otherwise the microwave performs well.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Annoying design flaws

While the unit works well, there are three very annoying design flaws. 1. If we push the button to open the door hard, it sticks in the unlocked (pushed-in) position, preventing us from closing the door. We push the button seven or eight more times and eventually it dislodges and pops back out. 2. There is a plastic spindle that interfaces with the glass plate and turns the plate. When we take the plate out to wash it and put it back in, if one of the three cogs on the bottom of the plate hits the plastic spindle, it pushes the plastic spindle down such that it will no longer engage with the cogs on the bottom of the plate. It is very easy to bump the plastic spindle and hard to pull it back up again. 3. There is not a good track in the bottom of the microwave to guide the three-wheel dolly that supports the plate. When the spindle gets bumped down (flaw # 2 above), the plate just skates all over the bottom of the microwave.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Easy to use with good results. Would be better with a shelf in convection mode rather than the metal stand.

Built-in, but not-so-exact replacement

Bought the unit to replace another built-in GE microwave oven. While operationally the new unit is an exact replacement, the dimensions of the kit were different from the previous unit. Thus, several modifications to the cabinet had to be made. In addition, the color (white) is slightly different than the oven situated below in the same cabinet.
Other than that, the unit works as expected

New model

I am so happy with my new GE Profile. It is up to date, looks fantastic in my all GE kitchen and works wonderful. New options are nice. It replaces the old GE that I had for 18 years. It was really used a lot, even to warm my dogs food. Love it.
