Good looking/but high price-short lifespan

High price. Short lifespan on individual components
I had a new control panel installed only after 4 years Then turntable would spin while opening door then no heat after another year. Not fixing. Already wasted good money. GE QUALITY HAS WANED 😔

While we understand the importance of an appliance operating for a long period of time, it is not possible to determine the product failure rate, lifespan, life expectancy, or life cycle of an appliance. Great Replacement

We bought this microwave to replace an identical unit that stopped working after 4 years. We were happy with its performance and as we have an all GE Profile kitchen we replaced with an identical model.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Over 17 years wasting money

Fool me 3 times and I’m done. We had this model installed when we built our house in 2008. The first one caught on fire. Fortunately I was home and was able to cut the breaker in 2013. In 2019 the replacement one I bought went blank and was completely dead. Now yesterday the third one doesn’t spin and is definitely not heating up. So so disappointed in using the same product for 17 years. Time to look at some other brand.

HOrrible. Worse appliance I've owned.

Worse microwave I've ever owned. Had to repair the door switch 3 separate times and then it died. Expensive and paid more for repairs. Didn't even last 2 years. NOT RECOMMENDED.

Not recommended for seniors or ADA needs

Our purchase decision was made based on the GE Profile we had to replace, which served us very well for 14 years. We thought there'd be less of a learning curve to use this similar model. Unfortunately, this newer model does not suit our current needs as seniors for the following reasons. The controls are not backlit and the icons on them are smaller to read. Our original purchase was set below our kitchen counter to suit my ADA needs, not on top. We are using the same layout in the kitchen as before which also limits visibility to the controls. To use the microwave my husband often has to get down on his knees to read and select the correct controls. Some of the options/features timeout too quickly before going on to the next selection.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Frequent Issues

Got this new in 2023 ..It was repaired by the end of warranty when faced a issue in heating and turn tables not working.. Again after few months warranty expired and again facing the same issue..Now there is a site visit charge, Labor and parts change to fix . Not what we expect from a renowned brand. Deeply dissatisfied!

After 11 years of abuse, door slinging, and using the heck out of it, the door switch finally gave out. Not bad. Gonna go ahead and update to a newer version instead of fixing it. I give it 5 stars

This is a built in microwave with trim kit. It’s the second one we have had in the last 8 years. The first one just quit working all together. The second one has a display that slowly stopped working. Only buttons left that work are the cancel and +30 seconds. So maybe lucky that it’s still usable. However, the market is slim for microwaves with the trim kit, but I will look to replace this with another brand. Just like the fridge and dishwasher that were GE profile.
