Love it when it works - but costly when it doesn't

Love it when it works. But significant failures and lack of reliability plague this microwave. Our now 5 year old microwave as needed material repairs every two+ years. We've had a turntable that won't stop. Motor that continues even with the door open - and more. Suggest you avoid this unit.

Great features but not reliable enough

This has great features and looks good with the built-in trim kit. But similar to what others reported, after 3-4 years we started experiencing numerous issues: the numbers stopped displaying properly, the turntable started rotating randomly after opening the door. Now it has stopped heating up food soon after the 5 year mark (although lights/fan turn on).
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

I love it. I have been waiting for a microwave like this. It's fast and easy. Plus, it is also a convection oven. Perfect for family events.

Beauty is Only Skin Deep

I'll add to the numerous comments lately about this unit going dysfunctional. Last month, 12 months and 5 weeks after purchase, the clock stopped working. 2 days later most of the buttons stopped working altogether. I guess I feel lucky to have 30 seconds and 4 minutes plus the cancel button, and the phantom turntable thing has not started yet! Have been happy with GE products in the past. It was a real beauty for just one year, so one star.

PEB9159Sj3SS should be removed from product list

This Microwave should be recalled. Was installed in new build homes in my neighborhood. Talked to about 8 home owners about their PEB9159Sj3SS Model and all 8 are experiencing issues with LCD display breaking, buttons not working, Microwave not shutting off. I've owned mine for about 2 years and it started to break in 1.5 years. Now I have to spend $$$$$$ just to replace something that should have worked for at least 5 years.

While we understand the importance of an appliance lasting for a long period of time. However, it is not possible to determine the product or part failure rate, lifespan, life expectancy, or life cycle of an appliance. There are multiple variables involved such as frequency of use, type of use, location of appliance, care, and maintenance.

Garbage microwave

This microwave is not awesome , just like all the other reviews my microwave is now doing the same thing. I can only use the 1 min and 30 seconds button to heat. I bought this microwave in 2020 when I remodeled my kitchen and unfortunately I chose all of the other appliances as GE Profile. I have come to think that GE is no longer a great appliance manufacturer. The refrigerator I purchased also has a problem with the circuit board and decides to run water when someone gets close to it( Autofill) . I would love for there to be an actual recall on this microwave so the problem can be fixed instead of having to come and complain about the same issue and seeing nothing has been resolved.
