It started failing after 3.5 years when the display went blank. Fully dead after four years. Sad.

Questionable Reliability

We are family of two and have purchased two GE microwaves. The first PEB9159 last two years and stopped. The dealer was embarrassed at the performance of the unit and discontinued the second PEB9159. The second lasted three years and stopped working.

Don't purchase!

This microwave is less than 4 years old. The warranty replaced the control panel once within a year (2022). The next year we paid to have the control panel replaced (2023) and now we are right back to the same issues with the microwave. We are highly dissapointed in our GE appliances.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

New in 2019. 2024 it turns on anytime the door is shut. Have to replace.

Control panel died after three years!

The microwave was nice while it lasted, but like so many other reviewers have said, the control panel failed after three years. GE ought to be able to make a product that lasts longer. Ended up having to replace with same item, as no other model would fit in the space. Fingers crossed that the second microwave lasts longer.
