Replaced 15+ year GE Profile Micro/Convection Oven

This replaced the GE built in microwave/convection oven that previous owners had put in over 15 years ago. The sensor in the old one was going out so we opted to update to a similar model since it had lasted so long. We have had it for 1 year 8 months and it has stopped working. It will hummm off and on when door is closed, it won’t let buttons work, then buttons will work and it’ll start stop start stop then decide to work. It’s really sad with how expensive it is for it to be acting like it is so quickly.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Just ok not great

I really do like the microwave but right from the start the turntable only works about half time. Lots of research and in lots of folks having the same problem.

We're thrilled to hear that you do like the microwave. We're incredibly sorry to hear that you have been having issues with the turntable and know how much of a pain that is. If the turntable does not turn check the following:
Make sure the turntable is centered and seated properly.
On models with a stirrer motor there is a shaft protruding up through the floor of the microwave. Make sure the turntable is securely fastened to this shaft. On models that turn on a ring with wheels attached, make sure the turntable is seated securely on the ring. Check the turntable to make sure it is placed right side up. If the turntable plate is upside down it will drag on the floor of the microwave. Check to make sure that there is no food or debris under the "wheels" of the turntable ring. Food can prevent the wheels from moving forward. Be certain you are pressing a cook function rather than a timer function. If the microwave has a turntable on/off feature make sure the turntable was not inadvertently turned off. Try depressing the turntable on/off pad to re-engage the turntable.

Fine so far

We bought this to replace an older Profile that was built in. Of course the saleswoman told us this would fit our opening. It did fit but opening too big so we had to modify the cabinet even with trim kit. (Plastic now) I truly don’t understand why GE would make a replacement model in a different size. This is much smaller than previous one. Have only used microwave and does what it’s supposed to. If this doesn’t last longer than my previous one (6 years) I will go to another brand.

Twice purchased and disappointed

This product does not last long. We had our cabinets build to the dimensions of this appliance with trim and therefore had to buy again when the first one went bad. The second one also needed part replacement within a year and now again after a year it stopped working

DONT BUY UNLESS YOU WANT TO REPLACE IN A MONTH!

I have had to replace this microwave 3 times in a span of 4 years! We built our house and our builder used this microwave. The first one lasted 3 years, but with the opening feature broken then one day it stopped. Replaced it with the same one, and that one didn't last even a month before it just stopped working. Waiting on warranty replacement still.

Key Pad Stopped working & Missing Areas on display

Terrible unit, was in recently built home that we purchased. Date on unit is 2018. But it was only used for less than 3 years, First certain numbers couldn't be used and part of the display was missing. Now it clock will not set and numbers cannot be used. Even tried the popcorn button or the 30 second one, NOTHING works! This ridiculous for the cost of this item.
