Works great but when you move the grates to clean they easily scratch the front or back. Only had a couple years and would like to replace stainless by knobs
I would recommend this to a friend!

Overall satisfied

I've enjoyed our GE range. My one complaint is that the first (and only) time I used the self-cleaning oven feature, the oven door switch went bad. It was a very complicated repair as the service tech had to in essence break down my entire range to get to a very small part. Both of us kind of shook our heads while wondering what the design team was thinking. After that experience I decided that cleaning the oven manually in the future was the way to go.
I would recommend this to a friend!

Oven is awful!!

We splurged and bought a more costly dual fuel range thinking it would be great. While I have zero complaints about the stovetop, the oven is the worst oven I’ve ever used. There are wild temperature differences. One day it will heat to the proper temperature and the next it will under heat by 100 or more degrees. It also takes Ian inordinate amount of time to heat up and if you put food in to cook before it’s preheated, the heating element on the top chars your food to a crisp. I don’t even enjoy baking anymore since I can’t get consistent results.
No, I would not recommend this to a friend.

Hello,

We certainly understand how frustrating it is for your oven temperature to not be correct and want to offer our apologies. If you have not done so, we would recommend calibrating your oven. Instructions can be found on page 16 of the manual.

If that does not help, please consider scheduling a service appointment. You can schedule an appointment by calling 1-800-432-2737 or schedule online at https://www.geappliances.com/ge/service-and-support/service.htm

We hope this is helpful. Mike@GEA

Mostly great, with one exception

Its only problem (so far) is the heat shield between the interior body and the broiler element. That shield is made of cheap mild steel with a thin aluminized coating. After a few years of weekly baking the coating disappears exposing the bare steel, which of course, rusts. That rust then flakes off onto your pies & cakes. Even though it looks like cinnamon the taste and texture (of the rust) doesn’t contribute anything positive to the final baked product.
Replacement part seems to be hard to come by. First one came in a GE box with the correct part number but its mounting holes are markedly different from the original.
Whoever thought the cost savings compared to an enameled steel or stainless steel part was a good idea should be taken out back and whupped. Then fed rusty bread and water until he comes to his senses.
